Using a specific programs only to manage gif is ... lol.
Photoshop *.psd format is an universal, easy and portable container for images, there is no real reason to not use it.

The gif you have made is bad optimized ... 68 Kb
Maybe your program is not so good as you think

This one is better (28 kb), edited and saved with photoshop...

and up to 120*120, only 32 kb

Making all images at the same size is good for repository, alignement, etc.


edit: forgot trasparency.. the size is the same (maybe less)
