how is the barrel a puzzle there are literally three buttons and four directions to choose from, and if the buttons make you jump and left and right don't work.................

As far as I remember, no other guimmicks use up/down. I can't think of any other examples, anyway.

It's like having a Mario game and one of the ingame features responding to the Select button.

Unless your not constantly pressing down to auto-spin dash when running which is dumb cause traveling is safer that way, you'd be pressing down usually upon getting to the barrel I am still baffled as to how I didn't realize this when I was younger. It was the first thing I did then stopped doing cause I thought pressing the button over and over was the better idea.
