[SCI-FI:] Mass Effect: Andromeda
#3
I'm a big ol' nerdy nerd about Bioware games, they write surprisingly good characters and they write stories that revolve around that, Mass Effect is a good example. On the surface it's a pretty cookie-cutter "hero saves the universe" story, but the motivation behind that is driven by the interaction between characters and the attachment you you have to them.
(That's not to say their writing is always flawless and I won't criticize it, if anything I'm more critical because they've proven they can do it right)

I'm hoping that the next Mass Effect game is nicely detached from the existing trilogy, assuming it's following a linear timeline there will be references to it, which makes sense with the scale of the story, I'm just hoping they don't feel the need bring back old characters or have a storyline that pivots around the same plot points. Easter Eggs are fine, that's something else entirely.
I know as well that I'm not the only one who's hoping for more character options and a more open story, the first three were pretty much linear and basically gave you the option of either being a super nice human soldier or a super mean human soldier. It would be cool to be able to pick more than what kind of guns you're good at, how your hair looks, and if you have boobs. (Seriously, give us options to play as a Turian or a Krogan, or any of the other interesting races)
