Just because people don't have the same, subjective viewpoint on something like you do doesn't mean they're wrong. Saying things like this makes you seem like a very close-minded person who can't accept other people's opinions.

Ah jeez, sorry about that! I didn't think that people would uh... take that sentence seriously, haha. Opinions are subjective so they can't be right or wrong... I thought that made the sarcasm in that obvious.

Anyway, I disagree on the exploration. I guess I can kind of see why the map layout is a biiiit sterile, like I can concede that, I just don't think it even affects that much. Like I said before, it's not like it even made that much of a difference to a playthrough in the past. B/W had exploration too, it's just that the main path was linear. All the exploration involved going off the beaten path to find items/shortcuts/Pokemon. Added onto that is the fact that HMs are never needed for progression... ever. They took away badge requirements and instead HM moves only served to create shortcuts or gain entrance to optional areas (X and Y does this too except for a single pointless 10 foot span of water with a guy who gives you a Lapras standing in front of it, heh). Not having to lug around an HM slave to make it possible to get through areas is the best possible thing they could do for PvE team diversity. And then there was all the poking around into every nook and cranny you could do after the credits roll, plus the actual rematch of the Pokemon League (whereas X/Y had next to no post-game content *sobs*). (Also, G/S/C's post Elite Four trip around Kanto had about the same leveling issue as the post-League part of B/W, and people praise the whole Kanto thing as if their life depended on it.)

I'm not saying B/W is perfect? I'll still say Sinnoh's a more intriguing region to me, and that as a whole, X/Y's total additions to the Pokedex was the most solid the series has ever seen. I get massive nostalgia over Pokemon Silver as it was the first I sunk a ton of time into and the same applies to many key parts of RSE. Every Gen has things that stick out to me but Gen V delivers on just about everything I value in a Pokemon game in equal amounts, with as few flaws as possible, so it's why I like it so much. Also like, dang, it had the absolute best game speed out of any of the games. It moved at a super fast pace, which is just what a game like that needs when played for a long time or in the competitive scene. Gen IV and VI are slow as balls compared to Gen V. In fact, the slowness of Pearl is what turned me off the series entirely UNTIL Gen V came out and I was willing to give it another try.

But yeah, here's hoping that ORAS fixes the damn frame rate issues that plague X/Y and maybe actually works in 3D? And that the music has good instrumentation? Please? Pretty please, Game Freak?

EDIT: Dibs on Psychic!
