C# is very, very different from C/C++, I actually don't know why it's called that. Like sure, it's a derivative, but so are Java and most popular programming languages. Including the 'C' just makes it sound scarier 
I've dabbled a bit in C# though and it's quite nice. I can imagine that once you're familiar with the APIs you're using it would be really pleasant to work with.
