´Game Extractor´ and ´Dragon Unpacker´ can be used to unpack most game archives, and you can import most custom file formats using a BMS-script for the program QuickBMS, which can be accessed on this link:http://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm
The most common model-ripping programs I have encountered is 3D Ripper DX and NinjaRipper, both of which can be imported in the model editor 3DS Max using a script that is available on the websties of the respective programs.
I personally recommend that you try using 3d Ripper DX or Ninjaripper first, before you try to unpack the game´s archives.
