Facebook just bought Oculus

this was crowd funded and they have yet to so much as release their product. How is this in any way legal?

If what I heard was true, the Kickstarter campaign promised the beta ones, and they did release those. Also, I'm not sure legally binding the Kickstarter campaigns are, considering there was that guy who was funded to make and send out a bunch of children books, but made them and burned them instead
