I think this game's art direction is leagues ahead of Melee's gritty one and Brawl's "epic" (both were good though). I think a more cartoony art style fits smash way more.
But anyway, most problem with models (altough DK's fur is really very bad) is, again, Sakurai posting REALLY CLOSE shots of a game that's not at all played at that close. You can see that the game looks really good in gameplay footage
