Why people are wrong about 5th gen pokemon

I actually like the first gen because of its simplicity, wacky, and cartooniness. That seemed to have died in the 3rd generation with all those souless Metroid looking Pokemon.
This generation restored that simple wacky cartoony Pokemon style I fell in love with years ago.
