custom pokemon overworld sprites by PM, WIP
#1
still working out some issues with angles, but i think it looks pretty good...
total time it took me to make...
16 hours, 45 minutes approx.
i need some ffedback to make them better, if you have requests for a pokemon, i'll strat a new sheet...
these are sprite singles, which means they do not move...
all pokemon are suppost to be facing at the same angle as a trainer on the overworld...

i need some feed back on the following...
are they all proportional to their respective size?
do the all have proper colors?
are they accurate in design?
do they have proper shading?
do they have good contrast?
do they look 3-D? (they are all 2-D, but i'm going for a 3-D appearence)
do any details look out of character?
do they have enough detail?
and, are they overall good? (a grade from A+ to F is what i'm looking for...)

comments are welcome...
critism is too... (please, no flaming...)

Well, for one, these are not sprites. They are 3-D graphics.

This
They should be in ''Creativity'' instead

it's not 3-D, it's vector...
big difference...
i'm very experienced with vector...
that's why they look 3-D...
just give me a chance...

You get the point, and that is that they're not sprites, sprites are made in Programs like Paint, Photoshop, etc.

you guys need to think outside the box...
how many of you do custom stuff like this?
maybe you guys have never seen a thing like this...
but you're shooting me down before i take off when it comes to this...
sprites do not have to be pixelated...
what about the new super mario bros?
are the sprites in that pixelated? no...
they were made from 3-d models...
think out side the box...
or you'll become very dull and lose a lot of freinds...

are they all proportional to their respective size?

Yanmega and Rotom Wind form could be a bit bigger.

do the all have proper colors?

Yanmega's body needs more saturation, Spiritomb's "aura" needs to be a dull purple, and Rotom Normal form needs to be more orange than yellow orange.

are they accurate in design?

Rotom Cut Form needs a sharper smile, with teeth. Electrode's eyes should be rounder.

do they have proper shading?

Regigigas' right shoulder doesn't.

do they have good contrast?

Probopass has hardly any contrast.

do they look 3-D?

Regice doesn't.

do any details look out of character?

Porygon-Z's arms aren't attached to it, and Pikachu has red circles for cheeks.

do they have enough detail?

Probopass doesn't.

are they overall good?

A-

Dusknoir's head and Piloswine's nose (And possibly tusks), as well as Regice need work. other than that, good job here.

And for the record, these guys aren't used to seeing things similar to NSMB hand made by members (Even animation), they are mostly accomidated to sprites and Pixel art.

Well actually, a few of the models weren't renders but sprites.

But aside from that, Regice looks completely out of style.

Your Pikachu's ears totally don't look like they should. And the colors don't really fit it, I'd say. Shift it slightly towards orange. And Hue-Shifting shouldn't be bad, as well.
And mine lacks a tail... Oh my.

The left yellow shoulder of that white monstrum has a wrong lightsource. Also I'd say that the front parts of the refridgerator should all follow the same gradient. The Ice thing and that ghost have to get rid of the black lines to fit your pseudo 3d style. That monster with the huge red nose doesn't fit at all.

I still think this should be in Creativity rather than here. Our understanding of sprites is focused on pixel art - technically, sprites could also be 3D Grahics, if I understood wikipedia right.

why is every post from you a poem that has every line ending in "..."

We don't need to think outside the box, you need to stop being so stubborn.

This forum is for pixel art. You can still post things like this on tsr, just not on sprite discussion, because they aren't sprites going by the definition this forum uses.

if you didn't get that, here's the post again in a way you might understand better:

we don't need to think outside the box...
you just need to stop being so stubborn...
it doesn't matter if anyone here can do vectors like the ones in your post...
because this forum is for pixelart, and not those...

nobody said it wasn't art, they said it wasn't spriting. Its not offensive to say that, its just true. Saying this is spriting is like saying cats are dogs.
