Hey my cousin rented LKS once and it looked fun despite being a Pikmin rip-off and the odd jibberish VA.
That's why it's good.
Except... it really doesn't play all that much like Pikmin. Even if it did... why not just play Pikmin 1 or 2?

lol then I must not be a good player because I like

can't get past the first boss

but I've seen other people play and they all like it so I understand why it's a good game. Hell, the soundtrack of that game is amazing too

idk why it turned to shit in Megaman X3 tho, I've played that but the samples were a lot more annoying and 'lets turn every known instrument into overdrive guitars' thing

when you say "first boss" do you mean vile, or chill penguin

or could you possibly mean the giant bee halfway through the intro stage
Thanked by:
he might mean launch octopus. the cursor does start on his icon rather than chill penguins, after all.

I love how Maverick Hunter X babies you and sets the cursor at Chill Penguin first. I happened to choose Chill Penguin first out of INSTINCT, knowing back in the day that games sometimes tried to trick you. Launch Octopus was one of the hardest bosses (back in the day, considering I can defeat any boss with just the Buster as an adult), and if I had tried to defeat him first I think I would have broken my controller.

Maverick Hunter X is a bad game because it lets you play as Vile and I wish that was a feature in the original game with the original game's physics. Plus I don't have a PSP. Therefore the game is terrible.

I wish I did have it though. Just for the hell of it :<

I never was into Megaman back in the day, so I might do better now. I don't hate the game, I just happen to be a terrible player in it

I don't think player skill should ever factor into the enjoyment of a game.

I "suck" at Smash Bros. and most fighting games competitively, but I can still enjoy them regardless of my win/loss record.

I find it near-impossible to beat the original Super Mario Bros., but that doesn't I still don't enjoy getting to at least World 4 and getting my ass handed to me by the Lakitu.

Mega Man X is no exception. The bosses demand that you memorize a pattern, some harder than others. Once you have the pattern down, though, they're fucked. The same applies to levels, to a lesser degree.

as I said,

Quote:I don't hate the game

and even recognize it as a great game, but I can't beat it.

but let's return to the original topic.

Férias Frustradas do Pica-Pau is a terrible SEGA Genesis game. Enough said.

I HATE any Ty The Tasmanian Tiger game that isn't the first one.

I'm not even 100% sure why exactly. It's like... the series went in a direction that just didn't sit right with me. The overworld is way too cluttered to get anything done, the characters have either lost their original personalities, or have been reworked severely.

Like for example: Ty himself just spams catch phrases over and over, barely getting in any real sentences throughout both sequels. Shazza is even more overly concerned for Ty and everyone, whereas she was much more independent and tolerable in the original. Sly is the worst offender of all; Instead of being the anti-Ty, he is now just "Ty's brother", and is in no way similar to how he was meant to be.

It really seems like, after the original was released, the publisher(EA and later Activision... yeah a good combo amirite?) decided to have more input for the sequels... hence why they suck.

Seriously, I don't understand how anyone who enjoyed the original can enjoy the sequels. They only take steps BACKWARDS. The only compliment I will pay the sequels is that they run at 60fps as opposed to the original's 30fps... but that isn't something that can save them from mediocrity.

This is actually one of the best TecToy games (which don't say much). Have you played their SMS games? They're much more terrible.

I enjoyed the sequels, they still had a lot of fun on both of them. I did enjoy the first one better though, but I dont see how the sequels took a step backwards.. Lol. They were made Suckerpunch which later made Infamous, and I can see very similar things in Ty that are almost the same as Infamous, and Infamous is an amazing game. I liked the characters in the Ty sequels, doing quests, etc.. for them.

I think they were still fun. Like you couldn't enjoy them at all?

For the record... the sequels were developed by Krome Studios, same guys who did the original... or did Sucker Punch really do the sequels?

Anyways, I could probaly tolerate them for a few minutes, but I'd never be motivated to finish them. There's TOO MUCH to explore... it's more like Grand Theft Auto minus the sandbox freedom.

I think really, it's more that I prefer my games "simple". If the mechanics and overall format is complex, I tend not to feel motivated to play a game.

Then again, my expectations were also skewed quite a bit. I was expecting more of the same, what I got felt like a different game with the Ty series slapped on it at the last second.

It's not so much a hate as it is an extreme dislike.
