Neat, looking great so far ^^. How is your comic series coming along?
It's on hold while I work on more character sprites. In the meantime, I started a sprite for my friend. It's a hi-res macro sprite, since his character is a macro. ^.-.^
Size is compared to Midi. I like doing sprites to scale, and he should fit well into most 16px tilesets, especially town tiles. ;3 (Don't worry, he's a gentle giant, not a kaiju.) Because of how big it is, I'll have to use skeleton animation to move the parts in order to get smooth motion, but it shouldn't look too bad. Current movable parts are the ear, head, bicep, forcep, torso, thigh, shin, heel, and toes. For the torso, I'm thinking I would need some sort of deformation thing to bend the texture itself in order to move naturally; breaking it into segments would undoubtedly look weird, unless I do like I'm doing with the other parts and having the caps be rounded. I'll see what I can pull off with it without him looking too segmented. Also, have not done the hands yet because I'm not sure what style to use for them and I'm scared to. XD

So here's how Asalis looks so far. I need to make more hands for him. And then I did one for my friend, Comito. The joints on this one need work, though, as they sometimes pop out weirdly in certain poses. Then I updated Midi, adding in new swimming sprites down at the bottom right. The first two are idle/floating, and the four at the end are moving. They were added in for his Starbound mod, but something about the arms doesn't look right when I look at it in motion. Any advice? Then I made some icons for my friend, Jazzy, who's done a bunch of music for my game, so this'll be for his appearance in our Game Freak building counterpart. I found this really cute sprite style on OGA and decided to make Midi and Tux in it. I'm thinking of submitting Tux as a Supertux custom.

Edit Reason: I already called the other one idle.

I give up. 9 different sprites, and nobody has anything to say about any of them. I'm out. Peace y'all.

Bye.
But seriously, many areas of the forum are pretty friggin dead now. If you want actual feedback then join our Discord server. There’s plenty of creative peeps there, and it’s far more active in general. Thanked by: Ton

I'm just not getting any and constantly getting ignored, and I got fed up with it. (02-08-2018, 06:03 AM)Gors Wrote: i called it out since 2014 and no one bothered about it Called what out? And honestly, I'm not sure if I want to come back because, like I said above, I'm getting ignored here. The forum is not dead, I'm just not getting any feedback and others are. I can't improve on my sprites if no one tells me what's wrong with them, and I'm not getting that here, so yeah, I dunno what to do.

As Shade said, you should probably try joining the Discord server.
