Exactly. This has been gone over before, there isn't even a 3DS emulator or ROMs yet. Need to give it a few years or so, since I imagine 3DS will be the most complicated platform yet.

The issue isn't so much a lack of visitors - it's the economy. Advertisers are simply paying less than they used to. On top of that, a lot of them are incompetent and not properly displaying ads so there are a lot of lost impressions as a result.
Suggestion for Sounds resource: be able to preview each sound effect in a file. It'd take a while but once the "backlog" of sound effects would be done then it could easily be integrated into each song.

I actually agree with this -- maybe it's already being implemented?

We've talked about this in the past and while I can't 100% remember the result, I think it boiled down to the fact that sounds are submitted via zip and to give previews for the files said zip contains would require one of two equally complicated options:

1. Install some software that could read from zips on the fly to pull out the requested file for preview. This would be a massive strain on the server as well as be a bit complicated to set up.
2. Require individual preview files to be uploaded with each submission. This would make the submission process much more tedious and also somewhat defeat the purpose of the zip since you'd have to upload individual files anyway.

If anyone has any ideas on how to make this work, I'm all ears, but I don't think it's going to be something we can offer unfortunately.

If the server could handle it, having the files unzipped would be cool (with of course still having a zip version).
But well, I can't imagine it being too hard to just download the zip (most aren't very big) and just flicking through it.

Seems like 'fixing' the issue would be more than it's worth.

I'm fairly sure that PHP has a class for zip files. Well, I was able to create zip files with it, dunno about the reverse.

The only concerns about unzipping uploaded files to use for previews is either bandwidth use for previewing or the space of the unzipped files (oh and the potential for PHP files to be stealthily included in the zip in an attempt to compromise the server. It can happen Cute).
Of course, a solution would be to have the server snip sounds down to preview size but unless you have software to dynamically generate preview sounds that won't happen and I honestly have no clue if PHP has an audio library Big Grin

Another suggestion for that would be to make just two or three sounds available for preview, to give the user an idea of what he's going to get in the zip file. I don't think you need to have every single sound to be previewed. Of course, it'd be more convenient if you make all the sounds available, but it also would be more tedious, difficult and resource-consuming than other methods, imo.

Is there anyway to get a five stars or four stars(those stars above a members avatar) instead of a three stars?

I would feel fancy if I was a five star member Smug

To think that a mere two-star member can even conceive such things...

B-but you don't even have three stars yet!!
If there are four stars, I'd suppose you'd need 10,000 posts to get them.
Honestly though, I find these post count markers rather ridiculous, quantity over quality ;-)
