Animation kills games because it's repetitive and boring.

metal slug would like a word with you.

practically everything by SNK would like a word with you

RE: Delicious Wonderbros - JarJar - 09-20-2009

guys i think he meant people who work with animation.

let's say i make a game that requires a shitload of animation

i get lazy

i quit

game doesn't get done, who's fault is that? mine. because i couldn't animate everything cuz it was repetitive and boring.

thats what bab means, hes not saying games with animation are shit, he said ANIMATING IN GENERAL can kill a game because it could lead the person not finishing due to how tedious it is.
WHICH IT IS, ANIMATING IS NOT FUN.(unless you're not doing a lot.)

RE: Delicious Wonderbros - Alpha Six - 09-20-2009

yeah he's pretty much right.

i'm an animator but i don't do it much with personal sprites because omg..

RE: Delicious Wonderbros - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 09-20-2009

That's why I'm pretty sure big budget companies (ie not any of us) have teams for that kind of stuff. It's pretty unreasonable to think that one guy could take on a load like that all by himself.

RE: Delicious Wonderbros - JarJar - 09-20-2009

what some people dont get is that theres a difference between hardwork and having fun, especially when you're trying to creating something.

RE: Delicious Wonderbros - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 09-20-2009

hard work is necessary to create a good product!

RE: Delicious Wonderbros - Ravecat - 09-21-2009

BAB isn't talking about large companies who have the man-power to do it, obviously...

even though you're making fun of it, I agree with it

RE: Delicious Wonderbros - tsr moderation staff - 09-21-2009

seriously though, animating is my favourite part of spriting

RE: Delicious Wonderbros - Alpha Six - 09-21-2009

Don't get me wrong, it's great to animate something and watch it come to life, but when you do it so many times with the same subject, it can be difficult to stay attentive.

This. It's most rewarding imo. Seeing sprites in action is so pretty!
