Starting out in Flash, any tips and such are greatly appreciated

general animation tips: if something stretches, its volume should still stay the same. try contracting him vertically when he expands horizontally. it's called squash and stretch.
and move his/her features around when you do that to match the fake "volume".

also, i think you're on the right track with the layers you're using.
is it supposed to be sneezing? if it is, it's too slow.

that said, keep it up!

Spiral Knights is pretty cool, man.
Also I've pretty much got my Awesome Chalky Brush doing what it ought to be doing, fuck yeah.

Some of the texture on this isn't as crisp as it should be because I accidentally saved it way too small at one point, whups.

hehe all my writings are just advice or "notes to self" basically on that one i wanted my parents to hold me more accountable for my grades so as to motivate me not to get cut off :v

dude, tachi, that's f'ing awesome. aneeds to be unified a bit because some are blended where other parts are crisp, but.
it looks nice!

RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Chutzpar - 05-01-2011

Yeah, I shrunk it to about 30% to show someone a WIP and then saved it by accident, I had to scale it back up again to be able to carry on, so a few parts look sort of blurry Very Sad

Also I'm LEARNING THINGS about brush sizes. The texture seems to scale with the brush so it'll come out looking crisper if I use a smaller brush, and fuzzier if I use a bigger one. I'm probably gonna have to restrict myself to only using a few different brush sizes on a single piece to help it remain consistent!

I am excited about this brush, omg.
