RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Maxpphire - 01-07-2011

I actually don't mind people having long noses. I mean if it is in your style for people to have long noses, it doesn't always look like a bad thing. After all your style doesn't have to be close to realizm, I mean sure you character should have proper Torso, limbs, and head ratios, but, when it comes to the face, as long as everything is in the right areas and you have a good sized head rather then too long or big then having a long nose really doesn't matter and I doubt people are going to activly point it out.

For me, My heads always turned out too long because of the noses and this does help a bit.

Once again, I'm sorry about the bad quality of the picture, but its the best I can get for now.
It was my weekly sketch for Drawing II class. We had a substitute who turned out to be the art teacher of the college I'm going to!
She said she liked it C:
The text by the devil "you mad" face just says, Tom G. Warrior means Satan in the phrase.

That said, if you do enough real life drawing, it's not exactly going to hinder you. I need to start working through his books again, I've completely forgotten how to structure the head and I'm developing Anime Longface, like in that tutorial.
I mean, I kinda like drawing long faces, but a lot of the time I'm doing it completely unthinkingly, which isn't cool at all X:

yeah loomis is great for using as a sstarting point for bridgman vilppu etc
ive found its much easier to go through their books now that ive done loomis Cute

Dude, does blender work like mudbox ?

RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 01-09-2011

haven't tried mudbox, but yeah, blender does have sculpting features.
zbrush, mudbox, sculptris, etc.

i have zbrush, but blender is so much simpler to use. i use zbrush for super high poly stuff.

Comparison with a raster version made in Photoshop here: http://zero-kirby.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2nghbi

I like the new one better. A lot better.
