dem smooth lines

RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Garamonde - 06-19-2011

I can never get bezier curves to work how I want them to (I don't half know how to work them in PSP 7). I need some kinda tutorial... Rolleyes

Secondly, how do you color in anti-aliased lines? I can't use flash.

RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 06-19-2011

what do you mean you can't use flash? as in you don't have?
in ps, you just select your lineart layer, lock transparency, and then fill the whole layer with the color you want.

RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Garamonde - 06-19-2011

Yeah, I don't have Photoshop (though I feel like I should look into it now...). My cousin told me I could use some kind of flash program to color things but it was hard to use or something.

Even then he also said that PSP 7 isn't the best art program but I've used it since forever.

RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Devicho - 06-19-2011

I actually didn't use Flash or Photoshop, I used SAI.
I think either of the former programs would've been a little more cooperative with the lines though because sometimes SAI just doesn't like me.

RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Rakia - 06-19-2011

Illustrator would probably be better for that, as you could stretch the image as large as you want since it's vector based. Flash is vector based as well, but I don't know, it's weirder.
Also Illustrator is similar to photoshop in terms of set up.

RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Devicho - 06-19-2011

Yeah, I love Illustrator but the last time I got to use it was graphic design class in school. :c
Eventually I'll get myself a copy or something because I had a lot of fun just coming up with ideas and making simple designs.

Uh sorry about this one guys.

Really hate that pose it looks so weird and unnatural. Anyway I'm basically experimenting with my character Rush's design. Giving him boots and a hat might make his design look more complete.

i'm actually happy with how this turned out! Smile
i might add some secondary lighting and tweak with the colours and shit, i'll probably save that as a different version.

RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 06-21-2011

next thing i'm going to work on (on a different pic) is to get rid of the black outlines. i'll see what i can do with some other tools apart from the brush
