Yeah, a sprite is basically any 2D image in a game. That means icons, characters, stuff like that. It can be both animated or unanimated, since you'd say that each piece of an animation is a "frame of a sprite".
That's how I understand it, anyway.

Actually, if my understanding is correct, each sprite would be a frame of an animation so you can use multiple sprites (i.e. the various poses of a character) to create a single animation.

RE: Suggestions - puggsoy - 05-24-2012

Really? Hm. But when you talk about a character's "sprite", then you're generally talking about the animation(s) completely, aren't you? Like, for example, you'd say "hey check out that sprite running across the screen", not "hey check out that animation made up of multiple sprites running across the screen".
I'm relatively new to this though, so I could be wrong. That's just how I understood it.

RE: Suggestions - Previous - 05-24-2012

The term "sprite" is quite versatile soooo
Both would be correct amongst others.

RE: Suggestions - Goemar - 05-24-2012

I once had a guy email me complaining that something wasn't a sprite because it was in the background... yeah some people are weird.
There's no fix term for sprite. If you look up the actual definition of it, it's well... technical...

Hmm... that definitely makes sense too. I guess Previous is right - there really isn't one all-inclusive definition for the word.

Iv'e got a question how many moderators do we have that upload 3D models to the site? No offence to any moderators but uploads for 3D models have been slowing down lately, Hope this question doesn't sound rude Shy

1. Peardian.
He runs the site. He an decide if he wants more people to help him - it'll be faster in a few months.

RE: Suggestions - Random Talking Bush - 05-26-2012

2. Myself, whenever I can. Not as often as Peardian.

RE: Suggestions - Dazz - 05-26-2012

Oh yeah but you don't count RTB because you're like a flash flood...

RE: Suggestions - TGE - 05-29-2012

Make some rules a bit more strict. Like adding a validation system where new members have to make 30 posts and need to make 1 decent thread and have been a member for a month. That would possibly reduce the amount of spam here. And give a 2 warning limit to new members. Just saying...

Another example, when I member wants to join, make them show a page with the rules and with a big title like 'READ THIS OR ELSE YOU WILL GET YOURSELF BANNED"

I just think the rules really need some tightening up.

RE: Suggestions - Previous - 05-29-2012

I think the mod crew can handle that just fine.
I'm not seeing any huge problems with new members lately that would require stricter rules.

Besides I don't get that one point. Validation for what? Minimum post count before you can post?

Also, we don't want to drive new members away before they even came here and such intrusive messages give a quite negative and unwelcoming impression.

I'm assuming he means before you can post requests. Although to be honest I think that the current restriction is good enough.

RE: Suggestions - ~Axis~ - 05-30-2012

The problem is that some new members try and spam there way to 20 posts and will sometimes request in other people's threads, but TGE, don't you think that's a bit too strict?

RE: Suggestions - redblueyellow - 05-30-2012

Compared to the amount of member-join-requests last year, I'd say they requirements are working just fine. Smile

Although, one idea is if an automatic PM was sent to new members titled something like "Welcome to the forums!" that tells them a bit about tSR and links to the rules.
