First frame of a kicking animation for the character Filia for the up-and-coming 2D fighter Skullgirls.

This is the project that I'm getting paid to sprite for btw c:

give comments etc, this single frame took like 3 hours lol

RE: Skullgirls! - Gold - 02-17-2009

Looks great Big Grin
but the hand thats open seems like it could be cleaned up a bit and the legs seem wtf.

RE: Skullgirls! - Goemar - 02-17-2009

Legs do seem to get a bit skinny, but I'm guessing that's the style.
The bottom oh her right arm (our left) seems a bit straight though. Her sleeve doesn't look right being at the exact same height as her arm, but maybe that's just me.

Like most of your work this looks bloody brilliant.

This is the best thing you've ever made

ever

RE: Skullgirls! - King of Bad Posters - 02-17-2009

Leg is way to skinny thats all my complaints but its perfect. Smile

RE: Skullgirls! - Out of Order - 02-17-2009

looks sorta like shes got some baggage in her.. lower torso area

RE: Skullgirls! - Shawn - 02-17-2009

Did you just sprite a sketch by o_8, or did you have to make it completely custom?

Either way, good job.

also, why did you use that colour scheme rather than the original?

RE: Skullgirls! - Alpha Six - 02-17-2009

It was originally a very rough sketch that I had to clean/construct and shade.
What do you mean ? I am using the original color scheme.

RE: Skullgirls! - Vipershark - 02-17-2009

ooh this looks great

will the game be sold/cost money, I mean

haha I can already see the 34 that will come out for this if it gets big

RE: Skullgirls! - lone wolf-rayet star - 02-17-2009

This is Filia's colour scheme. you did one of the alts.

RE: Skullgirls! - Alpha Six - 02-17-2009

I think o_8 decided to change it because all of the sketches he sent me use the red haired color palette, and the complete character sheet uses the red-haired color palette too.

RE: Skullgirls! - Vipershark - 02-17-2009

this is cool

one thing I noticed though is that the bottom part of the right (her left) leg is jagged
can you AA it some, or will it mess with the style?

DDDDDDDDDDDVery Sad I hope you don't need to make extremely smooth animations, or else you'll have a hard time making that...

RE: Skullgirls! - Alpha Six - 02-17-2009

I don't need to, but that's what I'm going to do. Extra pay + nicer animations B)
