AudioClip files not extracting in AssetStudio [SOLVED] - RavenclawNimbus - 07-19-2022

So, I'm using AssetStudio for all my Cuphead sprite ripping, but I was thinking about ripping some SFX. My problem is, it gives an error when I try to extract AudioClip files.

Here's the thing, I looked it up, and this Github Thread says that I need to "Include the resource file" but I don't know how to do that. Also, I've tried to make it a .fbs file instead of a .wav file, but I need a convertor. I downloaded FBS Extractor, but I don't know how to use it. I'd prefer to just include the resource file, but again, I don't know how to do it. If someone could please help me out, I'd be very grateful!

Another question: I want to rip the sfx in asset studio, but I don't know what file to load, or if I have to load the whole folder of cuphead_data. Does anyone know where the sfx are stored?

To answer your question on where the sounds are stored: They're stored in multiple files so it's probably best to open the entire folder.

Can you provide one of the files that contains some, if not all, of the sounds you're wanting to rip? (You can find out which file contains which sound by right-clicking the sound in AssetStudio and select "Show original file". A File Explorer window should open and highlight which file a sound is in.)
I might have a look for myself. No promises that I can be much help, though.

I don't think I know what you mean by "provide one of the files that contains some, if not all, of the sounds you're wanting to rip" but I want to rip the moonshine mob. They're also called "rumrunners" in the files if that helps. You don't know how to include the resource file do you?

What I meant to say is to send a link to the file containing the sounds you're wanting to rip through a file hosting website such as Google Drive or MEGA (you can send the link through PMs if you don't feel comfortable sharing the link publicly).

I'm not 100% sure what they mean myself, but what they probably mean is that you have to load the .asset file along with the corresponding files (such as the .resource files) found in the Cuphead_Data folder.

I don't know what file contains the sounds. That's one of my problems. :/

Right-click one of the sounds in AssetStudio and select "Show original file", a Windows Explorer window should open and highlight which file contains it (which possibly contains the other sounds as well).

Ohhhhh, do I have to do this after I open all of the cuphead data?

RE: AudioClip files not extracting in AssetStudio - DogToon64 - 07-23-2022

Of course, it's the only way you can select it in AssetStudio. :P

Hmm, if this isn't it, I don't know what else to try, but do you mean "DLC_RUMRUN"? If so, all you have to do is open all the ".ASSETS", ".RESOURCE", and ".RESS" files (under Cuphead_Data) together in AssetStudio. If you're looking just for those, ignore all the "level" files. Though, if you did mean the RUMRUN ones, I've managed to easily extract them as .WAVs. Want me to send 'em?

Yeah, that’d be awesome, but do you know how to fix my problem with the resource file thing? Basically, I can’t extract any audioclip files unless they have a container thing at the end.

Unless you're using a version of AssetStudio that is rejecting these files, then this is literally all you do. Load ALL three files (or in some cases, only one or two) per "assets" file, like this:

I am unsure how else to explain it. Just load all of those filetypes in AssetStudio (keep in mind that sharedassets3 is only an example) and it should let you extract the audioclips.

Also, here's the RUMRUN sounds: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/537036649482158110/1000747809038925894/cuphead_sounds.zip

Okay, great! I’ll see what I can do! Thanks for the sounds!

RE: AudioClip files not extracting in AssetStudio - DogToon64 - 07-24-2022

By the way, I forgot to ask. Are you using the latest version of AssetStudio? If you're using an older version then it's possible that it might not load the new sounds.

RE: AudioClip files not extracting in AssetStudio - RavenclawNimbus - 07-24-2022

Oh, I’m not. Apparently there’s a problem with the new versions of AssetStudio where it has “line cutout.” I’m using an older version. Do you think I should download both? I’m okay with that. Also, do I just have to find which file has which boss sfx?
