Was searching through some stuff on my HDD and stumbled upon this from a few months ago.

That's pretty gorgeous.

Awesome job, I love the colors, shading, and the lineart. But I have some crits for the pikmin though. The shading could me more smooth and round like the rest, and the eye could be rounder as well.

I don't like the shape of the helmet, maybe you should've played around with the lineart before shading it.
I suggest you make the shadow casted by the arm longer, and give him at least one eye ;p
Apart from that, good job!

I don't think he needs an eye. I think that would ruin the simplicity of it.

Thanks for the Great comments everyone.

I love this, great Shading job, BAB

RE: Captain Olimar - Bear Saxaphone - 01-23-2009

Its amazing. But I'm not a huge fan of the blue your using, and the leaf looks a bit too small.

RE: Captain Olimar - Badassbill - 01-23-2009

I limited myself to 15 colours + transparency and linked the grey and blue so I could have both instead of one. Changing the blue would mess up the grey colour ramp.

RE: Captain Olimar - starboysa - 01-23-2009

Wow, only 15 colors sweet. Love the shading line art is good. Overall very VERY good.

And Chris: he has an eye.

RE: Captain Olimar - Stirred Drei Ling - 01-24-2009

Why is his farther cheek lit the same as the closer one? It is like there is another, equal, light source.

RE: Captain Olimar - mozzy - 01-24-2009

Because the lightsource is coming from above?

RE: Captain Olimar - Stirred Drei Ling - 01-24-2009

That doesn't explain how it is almost the exact same even though the hair shows it is slightly above and to the right. Pretty much the farther cheek needs less of the lightest shade. It acutally looks like his cheeks are powdered.
