These look fine, except that in the second frame for Mario swinging a hammer, the hammer head disappears, you might want to fix that. Other than that, these look pretty decent

DogToon64, the frame your talking about, that's actually a smear frame.

(I removed the background color to make the smear more clearer)

Then you should make the blur bigger, or add the hammer's head to it, then it'll probably look better

DogToon64, I made a version without the smear and a version without the hammer frames.

Although, I didn't say that you should remove the smear, what I meant earlier was either add the hammer's head to the second frame, or make the smear bigger.
The smear was fine, it gave it some motion and an effect to it

I'm not so familiar with the style you're aiming for so providing sprite-centric critique is going to be a tad beyond me for Mario and Luigi.

I do advise changing the sheet color and the transparency color so it's not as harmful to the eyes.

I couldn't respond to your PM earlier because you've disabled accepting them, so I'll have to answer you here.

"Unfortunately, I am not the best person to ask in this regard; I do not know the style and am extremely unfamiliar with all of Mario's 2D sprite styles. Your best bet would to post in the custom sprites forum for feedback.

That being said, the sprites seem to be too "straight", which makes them look unnatural. Some leg poses in particular, and the head feels static in motion. I would look again at the base style that you're going for and work from there."
