What to do with a game with multiple names - Retro64 - 09-04-2018

Recently I had ripped Diskun for the game Janken Disk Jo https://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/jankendiskjojpn/
However after the game was accepted I realized that
  1. The game is actually called Janken Disk Jō not Janken Disk Jo
  2. It also has another name as well being Janken Disk Shiro
My question is should we keep the name the way it is, add the accent mark, or add both names with a slash in between?

If we take those games as examples:
https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/smurfs2/
https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/smartballjerryboy/

I would say you would put both name with a slash in between, with the accent.

"Janken Disk Jō / Janken Disk Shiro"

Thanks!
How would one get this name changed?
Do I PM a staff member?

This thread is fine but in my quick search, I'm not seeing that second name listed as an alternate to the first. Where are you seeing that?

Looking around the full name of this game is actually Famimaga Disk Vol. 6 - Janken Disk Jou (Jō can be romanized as Jou or even Jo).

Saw both names used in the ROM Hacking wiki but have seen the Shiro name used on Giant Bomb, NES World, GDRI and a few other places. Probably a case of bad translation that got corrected in some places but not others, it is quite a rare game after all.

I think it's more of a translation issue. Since this game doesn't seem to have a official name since it's so obscure.
  • Nintendo Wiki states Janken Disk Jō:http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/Janken_Disk_J%C5%8D
  • Gamefaqs states it's Janken Disk Jou:https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/famicomds/570529-janken-disk-jou-famimaga-disk-vol-6/images
  • GiantBomb states it's Janken Disk Shiro:https://www.giantbomb.com/janken-disk-shiro/3030-42957/
Jō and Jou actaully both translate out to up while Shrio transaltes to White making it even more confusing which names should be included.
So since there are many different names I think it would be ideal to have at least one of the Jos and Shiro so it would be complete

Update: Thanks for some sources I didn't Yawackhary

I added in all three in a way that I'm hoping isn't too bad: https://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/jankendiskjojoushirojpn/
