Wasn't there some rumor (which later is untrue since we know that Bandai Namco and Sora is still the developers) that HAL Laboratory was developing Ultimate?

Also loving the fact that they're bring back all the characters from each Smash game (Snake is back finally and liking Wolf's new design). As for newcomers? Well there's three that's been confirmed, honestly not hyped about the two but Ridley and I look forward to see any newcomers in the future.

RE: #SmashBrosUltimate - Smash Bros for Switch. - NICKtendo DS - 06-19-2018

As far as I'm aware, there's no stage that has been deconfirmed, simply because it's impossible to know before the game is out. I really hope that Pac-Maze is coming back too, because I really don't like the Pac-Land stage, but Pac-Land being on Pac-Man's page and there already being more than 80 stages discovered does make it seem unlikely. I know the Power Pellet and Ghost mechanics in that stage only works on seperate screens, as it was designed for 3DS, but they could carry over the design of the stage with either no gimmicks or a similar gimmick that fits a single screen. I know that the gimmick from Golden Plains can be carried over without issue.

I'm already more than happy with what's coming, but there's one thing I still demand: Better Single Player modes than on Wii U. Taking Classic Mode from 3DS would already be a step up, but that'd be the bare minimum.

Here's some hope and speculation that would be nice, but I'm fine eitherway:
Echo fighters:
We're currently at 3, which can be argued isn't much, but I won't be surprised if that's all we get. Still, more echo fighters are likelier than full new fighters, especially since they went out of their way to separate the echoes from clones like Dr. Mario. Here's a list of what I think are possible echo fighters:

-Let's get this out of the way:
Dark Everyone:
Shadow Mario, Dark Link, Fierce Deity Link, Dark Samus, Dark Metaknight, Shadow Mewtwo, etc.
Yeah, we have Dark Pit, but personally I think that's it. We already have Dark Link, Fierce Deity Link and Dark Samus colors and others could be represented in a similar manner too. I hear they're popular choices, but I think that's because they're easy choices.

-A popular one I've heard is Shadow as Sonic's echo fighter, because Knuckles "replaced" Shadow as an Assist Trophy (never confirmed, but whatever.) Shadow with all of Sonic's moves, including Final Smash, already makes sense, but if there have to be changes, either Chaos Control as a teleport recovery move or as Final Smash that slows everyone down. Maybe a faster, but riskier homing attack or something along those lines.

-Fusion Suit Samus. I was hoping to see the proper models for Samus' alts, including the Fusion Suit. What if that was an echo fighter? Her side-B could be Ice Missiles and Diffusion Missiles, the latter being a Smash input. Ice Missiles freeze targets on impact, but aren't homing. Diffusion Missiles explode into large clouds that freeze anyone within, but the missile itself deals less damage and knockback than the Super Missile.

-Birdo: Yoshi's echo fighter. Heart effects on the Down-B and replaces the Yoshi Tongue with an egg fired from the snout.

-Waluigi: Wii Fit Trainer's echo fighter. Just... Why make Daisy playable, but not him?

Personally, the only stage that is confirmed that I have a strong hatred towards is Great Cave Offensive.

That's probably the worst stage that Sakurai has made, and the least fun just because it's too confined of a stage.

It's somehow too small AND too big.

I just wish we could get something more like this:

Also on the subject of me not being too pleased with Green Hill Zone, Can somebody please tell me why they didn't bother to at least make it look like the one in generations? As everything else got a graphical upgrade, It's looking more like Plastic Hill.

That's the classic Green Hill Zone look though and easily the most recognizable. For most fans that loved the originals, but abandoned the series past Adventure, this has more of a nostalgic impact than an updated, modern version. It not only represents Sonic and his origin, but also the style of the Sega 16-bit consoles.

RE: #SmashBrosUltimate - Smash Bros for Switch. - titleknown - 06-19-2018

Honestly, I'm gonna be so peeved if K. Rool gets snubbed again. Which is the main reason why I resent all the Fire Emblem characters in Smash 4, but I digress.

Also, I can't help but remember a recent article I wrote on 5 Characters I'd Love in Smash 5 That Will Never Ever Get In. Note I wrote that before the title was confirmed as Smash Bros Infinite and before Sukapon was confirmed as a trophy. Though I can guarantee that the Number 1 entry is almost certainly never getting in...

A bunch of Smash fans are angry about this situation, so mad that they for some reason decided to target Sakurai's social media accounts for not adding Waluigi. Like okay, but how is harassing the creator gonna force him to add in Waluigi smh Rolleyes (Found out about this on Twitter, most particularly this tweet).

Speaking of Echo fighters, if they were to add in another, I'd say Chrom as an Echo Fighter of Ike.

I still think Wily Castle all in HD and whatnot kind of makes me disagree with it "not needing to be updated" IMO. But that's just me. Not to mention the fact that almost every other stage got visually overhauled.

RE: #SmashBrosUltimate - Smash Bros for Switch. - titleknown - 06-19-2018

Honestly, if Waluigi was gonna be an Echo Fighter, he should be one of Bayonetta. Both because of the lankiness, but also because, you were expecting Witch Time? TOO BAD, WALUIGI TIME!

Man, I didn't want to bring it up because the FE characters get quite a bit of hate around here (although when Nicktendo was talking about other potential Echo Fighters I really wanted to chime in because I think that would be a fun topic to talk about), but I can't stay quiet since you've brought up Ike echoes.

I know that myself--and I'm fairly confident that most other 20-something-year-old FE fans--would go absolutely nuts (in a good way) if Hector was included as an Echo Fighter. Lyn is unfortunately deconned again, but Hector represents the exact same game that Lyn would and his animations are already the 2D versions of Ike's. He even has an animation that looks exactly like Aether, for Pete's sake! He's a long-time fan favorite, and he brings in that coveted "Different Type of Weapon" all FE--and I think a lot of non-FE--fans have been hoping for.

HECTOR FOR SMASH 2018!!!

I was only joking. I like Waluigi, but no way in hell am I going to go that far. Sakurai doesn't deserve this shit and these asshats don't deserve Waluigi in Smash.

RE: #SmashBrosUltimate - Smash Bros for Switch. - Shin FireyPaperMario - 06-25-2018

Here's my wish list for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate:
  • A more polished Story Mode, like in Brawl
  • A stage builder!

RE: #SmashBrosUltimate - Smash Bros for Switch. - DioShiba - 06-25-2018

I don't know why anyone would want a Subspace 2.0, I'd much rather have an adventure mode 2.0 like in melee.

As in actually having specific levels themed after each series, occasionally fight other fighters, then work your way up to the end to face Bowser, and Giga Bowser under a certain condition, either that or master core and it's other forms being redone would be appropriate here too.

Also a stage builder would be good but it should be a combination of things from both Smash 4 and Brawl. While Brawl had alot of options in regard to what you could put in a stage, it was also limited how many things that you could use and you were locked to a grid. I also wasn't a fan of Smash 4's stage builder because it lost a lot of features brawl had in favor of being able to draw out your stages, which was nice and all but lacked elements that could allow the player to make a decent stage.

I also wouldn't mind if more was added into stage builder as well, maybe even allow for users to at least upload photos or videos looped in a specific duration of time into the game for custom BGs, but that is a very far stretch to even ask for on the latter.

If Sakurai doesn't build on what was already done in stage builder, I can do with out it.

On another note, speaking of things lost from smash, some classic target smash, board the platforms (And that goes without saying that I would love each character to have their own specific stages for this) and Race to the Finish would be nice. Given how big of a game Smash ultimate is and how it seems to be bringing out the power of the switch, I think that at least it's doable for smash ultimate to bring back those minigames. Also, I would prefer the 3DS classic mode, or at least a hybrid of that and melee's classic mode this time around instead of the chess game scenario in Smash for Wii U, which could be a separate mode all on its own.

And finally, I just want sakurai to organize the fucking menu this time.

RE: #SmashBrosUltimate - Smash Bros for Switch. - eureka - 06-25-2018
