Gex: Enter The Gecko and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko Model Ripping. - gaybagel23 - 05-08-2018

I have noticed that this site has the sprites and textures from the gex series but not any models. (Other than the 3 n64 models).

I am looking to change that. As the games are large (i.e lots of areas, enemies, etc). It would be nice if i could get a group together to rip them.

MODELS IM LOOKING TO RIP FOR THIS SITE
  • Gex

  • Gex in Toon Tv (Rabbit Costume)
  • Gex in Gilligex Isle
  • Gex in Sea Span (This is an n64 exclusive model, it is his wetsuit)
  • Gex in Anime ChannelĀ
    Gex in Army Channel

    Gex in Tut TV

  • Gex in The Media Dimmension
Gex in The Pre History Channel

    Gex in The Rocket Channel

    Gex in Kung-fu Theatre

    Gex in Gexzilla and Mecharez

Gex in Mystery Tv (Both the Sherlock and Vampire Models.

Iirc Enter the gecko was on psx right? i can take a look and see if i can find anything, as for the n64 one i know nothing about ripping from those. but if it also helps there's a program called psx prev which will search through a games files for .tim files (textures and sprites) and .tmd and .pmd files (models) but it can get a bit messed up.

This seems to be an extremely thinly veiled request. Generally, it's best not to post a project thread unless you actually have something to show as far as progress goes. Please update your post to show you've actually at least started.

I found a program that might help in your endeavor, but other then decompiling the BIGFILE.DAT file in the iso (Which holds everything) I don't really think you can do much after that. In Gex 3 atleast, the models use a weird file type called .drm (And the only program I've found that opens them is ModelEx for Soul Reaver, but even then it either doesn't open at all, or it crashes).
Links to the Programs:
https://www.thelostworlds.net/Software/Soul_Spiral.html
https://www.thelostworlds.net/Software/ModelEx.html
Your going to need Iso Buster to extract the BIGFILE.DAT because when PsxPrev does, it messes something up and Soul Spiral can't read it.

Also, ModelEx's Github page seems to be more updated than the stable release on the lostworlds page, but I don't know how to compile it, so I don't know if it supports Gex. Hope I helped atleast a tiny bit. :p

Edit: Also sorry if me bumping this annoys anyone.
