Are you using the in-built model ripping hotkey (Shift+F8), or a hooking program?
Is the renderer set to "Direct3D 9 (Software)"?

I've read from a non-official source that the Windows Binary copy of the latest PCSX2 versions also have the model ripping feature included/enabled.
