Sonic Mania models - robowil - 09-01-2017

The special stages in Sonic Mania use 3D Models. I have the PC version, but how would I rip those models? What programs do I use?

RE: Sonic Mania models - MrHashshashin - 09-02-2017

You may be able to use 3d ripper dx and rip the models while in the special stages

RE: Sonic Mania models - deefordog - 09-04-2017

I heard if you do rip it that every single frame of animation is a seperate mesh. so good luck with that

Alright. I got an answer. TPot made a tool called Mania Mod Studio, which has the data unpacker AND the model converter in. These were by Skyth.
you drag the data.rsdk file into the rsdk extracter, and it should extract everything. And then you find the meshes/special folder. drag which ever .bin file you need into the mdl2stl converter. This will convert it into an .stl, compatable from certain area

I got the RDSK thing done, but the models are in the .bin file format. How do I convert it to a .obj file?

RE: Sonic Mania models - robowil - 10-08-2017

I used the Sonic Mania Mod Studio to convert all of the models to .STL models, but I can't find the textures to the models.

RE: Sonic Mania models - deefordog - 10-09-2017

The models do not use textures, only vertex coloring

RE: Sonic Mania models - robowil - 10-09-2017

But are they suitable for submitting? I don't even know how to find their T-poses!

Any pose is good, i presume, but check if is not gliched.
Post a screen of the converter 3D model here.
(A screen showing the model, not just the file)

RE: Sonic Mania models - deefordog - 10-10-2017

each animation frame is a seperate mesh, there is no such T-pose model

RE: Sonic Mania models - robowil - 10-10-2017

Here is a model that I converted. I turned on the Wireframe since apparently the models use "vertex coloring."

I can make a texture... It counts as original or custom if i did it?
