Server Shutdown Tonight - Petie - 07-18-2016
Hey everyone. I just wanted to give you all a heads up that I'll be shutting down the server tonight at around 10:30 eastern. The datacenter we're in has detected an issue with the power line our server is attached to and will be shutting down all servers connected to it some time between 3 and 6 AM tomorrow. In order to ensure we don't lose anything, I'll be shutting down well before that. It means all sites and services will be down for about 12 hours but it's worth it to avoid corruption. If anyone has any questions, let me know but otherwise, expect everything to go down tonight and be back up tomorrow morning.

There was also a large red warning on all of the main sites. For the forum, it's generally advised to keep an eye on the news forum as it's how we do mass notifications.

I've noticed the server was down today after I got up. I don't know why it happened, but it seemed unusual.

Yeah, not totally sure what happened and it will be going down briefly later to investigate potential hardware causes but not nearly as long as before.
