So I went back and checked previous rips, and ALL OF THEM had spec maps, which were taken from the alpha channel. Is that incorrect to do?

@Anex I use globally Unity Studio, but for some Unity games it don't work and the model exporter can't export separately models and the FBX ASCII isn't supported by all 3D editors.
For Sonic Runners there are some files that Disunity detect and Unity Studio no.

[OFF-TOPIC] I think I will do a custom server for Sonic Runners...
The main data server are http://dl.sega-pc.com/ (you can see OK)
see the BGM Image URL: http://dl.sega-pc.com/srn/app/information/017/pictures/infoImage/ad_10500076_fr.jpg
And there are 11 servers (example : http://216.98.105.168/ ) choosen randomly.
The server is used for many things (if the act start data is send SERVER/Game/actStart ; Unlocked character SERVER/Character/unlockedCharacter ; Spin parameters SERVER/Spin/getWheelSpinInfo ...).
Unity WWWTranscoder is used to encrypt the data.

That will be very useful, I wonder how extensive and far back though that SEGA went with this server and if it is missing any information.

UNITY3D files? Download those. There are known ways of ripping those, so it'll work.

By the way is there any update on finding anyone wanting/willing to send us their data that may contain some of the characters/buddies/etc. that we are still missing?

As you can see there are an incrementation, maybe there are also ui_tex_event_0001.unity3d , ui_tex_event_0002.unity3d , ui_tex_event_XXXX.unity3d...

You are right, there was a ui_tex_event_0001.unity3d file!
