My Animal crossing recreations - Laviathan4041 - 12-13-2015

This is sort of pixel art, but it's not my original pixel art. So I didn't think it should have gone in the pixel art category, but I am not sure. I have been using the spriter's resource for years now remaking hundreds of sprites in Animal crossing from games that I like. I just thought somebody would like to see some of them, but for now I'll just show off Spawn because he is one of my best recreation drawings. Also if you have a good website to post these QR code pictures and get it more recognition than just sitting in a huge album on my facebook not ever being discovered I am all ears.

Please be more mindful about what you post in the future; compliments are fine, but one-word posts such as this that don't add anything of value/interest to the topic should be avoided.

Just a friendly notice this time.

LATENT EDIT: oops!!!! welp

Lavi, do you use software to recreate art in Animal Crossing? Or do you redraw the whole thing, pixel by pixel?

For the longest time I've used Animal X-ing Designer (?) on Android which allows me to import pictures and properly scale them before converting them to the AC palette with a QR code to boot. I don't think I've ever been brave enough to pixel-by-pixel recreate any art yet, lol

Cut it out with the needless remark kosheh

I had no idea such a thing existed. I really do create them pixel by pixel. I am disappointed that I know such a thing exists now. People can now claim that I didn't do it pixel by pixel. Here's the rest of them that I saved. ( https://www.pinterest.com/laviathan4041/pixel-art-animal-crossing-qr-codes/ ) I've lost at least 5 that I can think of due to not saving and overwriting them.

don't feel dumb for not using software and making it pixel by pixel

when I was like 14 I pulled out my gba and KH:COM and tried to rip sprites by looking at my gba and doing it pixel by pixel in paint ( I didn't get very far before I realized)
I was like WOW BAB HAS DEDICATION HE RIPPED THE ENTIRE GAME BY LOOKING AT HIS GBA!

NEVERTHELESS
you don't lose anything with these rips
if anything you have a lot of patience and dedication Smile

also whats your FC? we should play together sometime, I have a lot of patterns myself

I do not feel dumb for not using software. I feel like people are going to say that I didn't draw the animal crossing pictures pixel by pixel if they know about the software that exists. I work hard on these and it takes some time depending on complexity of the sprite. Sometimes I make mistakes and restart the whole thing from pixel one all over again. Sometimes I mess up and say screw it hopefully nobody notices it. I just feel that since someone made that software it takes away from my pixel art because now there is a much easier faster way that just about anyone could use to make what I make by hand. The tool is cool but at the same time it just kind of angers me.

RE: My Animal crossing recreations - Kosheh - 02-28-2016

Well, if it's any relief the tools that exist don't usually do that good of a job with color selections and palettes, so it's pretty easy to tell when a lot of love goes into it versus lazily slapping it into a pattern-generation tool

Also, most "textures" in New Leaf (like pathways and stuff) are usually drawn by hand because there's literally no way you're gonna be able to automatically generate a tiling surface throughout your town
