Yeah, I was trying to get the models from the .P files dumped from the .CVM but it wasn't happening. I got that by opening the entire 512mb .CVM in a hex editor and searching for the gno header. I also got some .gvr textures out that way. Maybe one day there will be an easier way?

Odd I tried that and it didn't work. I tried using "QuickBMS" and a "CPK" script (cpk.bms) [which I found thanks to sonic retro on the Sonic Generations PC Community Hacking Guide Page full of useful programs and tips] which is what I use for unpacking ".cpk" files normally and it didn't work. I also tried copying a few files and rename them to ".cpk" and then try to use this method again and I still got the same thing. Also Sonic Lost World also has ".amb" files so I'm assuming that they are the same, so are they really renamed ".cpk" files or a similar file format, or am I being stupid?

Also for Sonic Generations How do you open up a lot of the models? Some of them I can open and are ".bcres" which "Ohana3DS Rebirth" can open but there are files like ".bcenv", ".amb", ".bmis", ".bprm", ".bcmdl" and other files that I son't know how to open or convert so that I can find out what they contain and where the models files are.

One question to you or anyone else (assuming that you have the files from sonic generatioms 3ds), how big is/are the files of Sonic Generations 3DS for you? A friend of mine today just game me a link to a "Generations 3DS TARGET.CPK unpacked" .zip file which was only 434 MB, which is small compared to the 3ds files of the other 2 3ds sonic game files that I received from "nobody231" through his links which was (1.9 GB for Sonic Boom Shattered Crystal 3DS) & (1.5 GB for Sonic Lost World 3DS), so I just want to make sure.

The levels 3D model files of Sonic Boom Shattered Crystal are .ASAN who apparently are unknown, I have found in it textures but anything else. Can anyone extract it ?

Alternatively, try this: http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?showtopic=22977

AMB seems to be a SEGA archive that's also seen in Sonic 4. Not sure if that's its first appearance though.

Huh, I guess it only works for music files then. Anyways, the 7z that I sent you is actually compressed. If you unpack it, the actual size will be around 900 MB. Anyways, only use QuickBMS CPK on the music AMB files. Use AMBextract on the other AMB files.

.asan.cooked is the model file of Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal. We need to find/create a maxscript/program that can import these models/convert these models to dae.

I have submitted the first model to Sonic Generations (3DS): Red Burst! [Image: 9616.png]

RE: Sonic the Hedgehog Games Model Ripping - nobody231 - 02-27-2016

So, now I'm trying to rip from Rio 2016, and ran into a problem... The files are in a CPK archive, as expected, but something seems to screw up the extractors. I don't know what it is, because when I went in to look at it in a hex editor, it looks just fine to me. Note that I have nearly no hex editing skills, so don't trust me. Check it yourself!

RE: Sonic the Hedgehog Games Model Ripping - Kawasuzu - 02-27-2016

The CPK seem to be unpacking for me, just in .dat and .sta and whatever file formats that comes out of this.

Edit: nevermind. it could be an updated CPK format from what it usually is from LW and Gens.

QuickBMS script problem.

RE: Sonic the Hedgehog Games Model Ripping - EnderMan1997 - 03-03-2016

Well, it's possible to rip MODELS from Sonic 2006 with Random Talking Bush 3ds Max script. But it's rip models with very bad quality, and it's can't open animation files, or exactly .xnm. Does anyone knows how to do that?

RE: Sonic the Hedgehog Games Model Ripping - Lugana Rysniq - 03-06-2016

Has any one tried looking as the ps3/360 Version of Sonic the Fighters for Models? the ones on the Resource are... not good? and un-textured.
