Bootleg Stuff - Koh - 11-30-2014

Just thought it'd be funny to have a thread dedicated to all manners of bootleg things.  China is, of course, the king of this category.  I mean look at some of these....

Has anyone here ever actually owned bootleg things?  If not, just feel free to share some of the ones you found through the internets.

RE: Bootleg Stuff - puggsoy - 11-30-2014

I remember in Egypt there were chips that had miscoloured Spongebob on the wrapper and it was called "Punch Pop" or something. There was also somewhere that had Mickey Mouse smoking a cigarette, iirc. No pictures though, sorry.

Ok, so my friend showed me something interesting with a few auctions for bootleg NES Street Fighter II games but uh... oh boy, the boxes this seller decided to make for them:

You can't talk about Chinese bootleg games without mentioning Dian Shi Ma Li!

Alongside Somari, Fortran is like...the mascot of all terrible pirate games. Someone please make a sprite sheet for this guy! XD

That's absolutely amazing. The fact that I can read your name on those boxes is even more hilarious.

Not gonna lie, I can understand the direction they were going for (like Nintendo's use of Mario's walk animations on their 30th anniversary stuff) but

geez, not even editing out credit tags, nice.

(also oh god, I feel like you should buy one and like, autograph it or something)

Also how did this topic go on without mention to one of the best bootlegs in bootlegging history? I don't even need to write a description - the picture speaks for itself.

This just made my morning.  Why?  Next thing we're going to see is a Shrek transformer.

I'll be honest, I did buy the Street Fighter IV cart there. It would seem silly if I didn't even try getting one of them. Tongue

...also I don't think Transformable Thomas will ever stop amusing me no matter how many times I see it. It's just amazing someone thought that was a good idea.
