How's this? I'm not sure how far I'm gonna take these sprites though. These 4 might just be it. But who knows? I might actually be tempted to finish this one.

something like this, more or less. pay attention to the curves and placement of the original sprite, since that one was dynamic. if youre scarred to copy off of it... then dont be. its not that bad of a reference tbh. one can suggest to even look at the smash bros version if that works.

also, imo, i think you should tone it down with the colors. on a sprite that small, it gets to the point where all the colors make the sprite hard to read.

*rises from grave*

Yeaah... clearly I'm not finishing that Mega Man sprite... So here's another thing that I probably won't finish and have actually scrapped many times!

"Ugh, another PBG sprite?"
Yeah, yeah, crit now, complain later.

RE: The Pixels Of Joxon - recme - 01-09-2016

one arm is shorter than the other. his feet should also, imo, be flat on the ground

RE: The Pixels Of Joxon - Joxon - 01-09-2016

I was trying to base it off of this pose, just without the weapons, which still works IMO, which is the explanation for the feet being slightly up. His "shorter" arm is bent, not actually shorter, but I assume that's a matter of readability, so I'll work on that. Also, this going to be animated... In fact it has been. I just can't get the GIF right now.

RE: The Pixels Of Joxon - Joxon - 01-29-2016

So I did things

(Arm movement needs help I think)

Well, I made this for a streamer a little bit ago, and perhaps I could improve a bit.

RE: The Pixels Of Joxon - Joxon - 02-20-2016

Herp back at the lower half of the page again

I did more things. I'm probably not gonna take this anywhere else, though.
EDIT: I didn't notice the flickering eye colour till it was too late. I'll fix it later.

RE: The Pixels Of Joxon - Joxon - 03-24-2016

Let's see, what else do I have here that I can use as an excuse to bump this thread... Well, I have these, continuing from the PBG portrait:
Not that the PBG game is going anywhere. I really should try completing one of the many self-projects I've thought about like a writing a book, making a game, improve my drawing skills... But... Competitive Smash Bros. is inescapable... Maybe I could... Oh, never mind, I found a local tournament, goodbye social life and hello GameCube controller

(But really please I wanna get C+C on this stuff so I can improve my pixel work)

RE: The Pixels Of Joxon - Kelvin - 03-24-2016

Your PBG sprites have really improved since I was last here! As for the standing sprite, I think you should just make the foreground arm the same as the background arm, then maybe make them a bit narrower.

Something like this.

RE: The Pixels Of Joxon - Joxon - 03-25-2016

Ok, so in regards to the PBG project, I have no idea what I'm doing right now. I haven't had the steam to finish it. I think the concept I'm going for is a bit too much of a stretch for the fact that I'm just starting out with GameMaker, still. Although, if I return to it, it'll be a basic platformer, with level select and story Mario-style, and possible Zelda II style platforming. I've also been trying to find a certain style that I like for PBG. I think I've been going for too much of a realistic feel. He's had all realistic animations, and bland expression. I've been going for a cartoon style, and I drifted too far from that. I toyed with this:
And I think it's what I'll be using. It's more expressive, more chibi-style, and it's more of an appealing design. I just need an idle pose idea that works.

RE: The Pixels Of Joxon - Kelvin - 03-25-2016

PBG IRL is already an oddly expressive human bean, so the cartoonish look seems to work better for him.

RE: The Pixels Of Joxon - Joxon - 03-27-2016

So I figured out how to upload GIFs on iOS...

Err, apparently they're animated JPGs? Or maybe that's just the URL...? I dunno, either way, they're animated.

Here's the sheet with some WIP idle animations, I'll post those soon.

RE: The Pixels Of Joxon - Joxon - 05-29-2016

By the gods, I'm alive
It's been a while, I forgot about y'all
Anyways,
[Image: JIEG1X4.jpg]
I've been figuring out an Internet persona (I guess) for me and I came up with this design after a bit of off-and-on tweeking. How's it look?

RE: The Pixels Of Joxon - Filler - 05-29-2016

Looks good.

Maybe make the background a different colour so it's easier to see the headset? As right now, the smaller, icon-sized sprite takes me a couple seconds for it to click in.
