Lookin' good so far! The foreshortening on the edges of the mask add a surprising amount of depth to something with so little shading (so far).

No real complaints here, though some anti-aliasing might look nice once you finish the mask.

I think the original sprite had a better pose and a more readable head (face and hair)
The colors in the new one are much better, though. Maybe you should simplify the design so there's less unreadable and unnecessary detail?

Kirby's shading is using too many colors, and doesn't really look too smooth considering it's Kirby, I recommend looking up Kirby sprites from the DS series since those don't use too many colors and are pretty nice in my opinion.

Kirby's shading is just fine, and also it adds a lot of detail to Kirby.

I think he's right. Kirby needs maybe 4 shades of pink, max. He's known for being simple.
