RE: Pokémon 3DS/Switch Model Ripping Project - Random Talking Bush - 05-26-2021

I've added stuff relating to New Pokémon Snap to the first post!

Yep, it's a known problem with 3DS Max 2021 specifically. I'll work on fixing that soon.

It happens in 2022 as well.
Please fix. Cry

I don't know if this has already been asked before, but how do you rip Pokemon Models irises? I'm trying to rip Shuppet, but it seems that the UV mapping is all wrong, and I can't find how to fix it.
Apologies for my bad english.

Hello, could you help me, do you know how to open a ms file? I want to get the new snap models and I get SSBUlt_NUMDLB.ms to extract the model.

Can someone give me an in-depth explanation of how to rip models from Sword and Shield? I've been looking around for months now and I can never find the full process, just resources. I really want to rip models but don't know how.

RE: Pokémon 3DS/Switch Model Ripping Project - DogToon64 - 08-01-2021

Have you tried using Switch Toolbox? I use it to rip models from Pokémon Sword and Shield.

It doesn't work for every Pokémon game (like New Pokémon Snap), but I do know it works for Pokémon Sword and Shield, and Let's go Pikachu & Let's go Eevee.

Like I said, I've been able to find stuff like that, but don't know the process. I have the ingredients but not the recipe.

RE: Pokémon 3DS/Switch Model Ripping Project - DogToon64 - 08-01-2021

Open the "Archive" folder with Switch Toolbox. (The models for the characters, Pokémon, ETC. are located inside it.)

When you open the files, be sure to look in the "Quick access" folder to find the models, textures, ETC.

Hope it helps!

EDIT: Oh, and I completely forgot to mention:
You'll also need to obtain and extract a Pokémon Sword and Shield ROM.
You can either find one online (I can't link to one because we aren't allowed to do that here.), or dump one from your switch.

This might help: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-export-nintendo-switchs-pokemon-models-and-animate-them-with-3ds-animations.552486 I haven't tried this myself since I'm not interested in the switch models (it also explains how to rip 3ds models, but I already know how, so..), but I think it works Wink .
edit: oh, I forgot to add, if you're gunna be extracting the models yourself, you're gunna need the game files (you can just get this off a ROM site or something if you don't have a hacked switch and/or don't have the game.) If you're using the files that RTB provided, however, I think you can skip the first step in the tutorial

RE: Pokémon 3DS/Switch Model Ripping Project - jedmario - 08-02-2021

Will we be getting the Pokemon Unite models? I have seen some improvement to some of the pokemon models in the game, namely with bump mapping.

RE: Pokémon 3DS/Switch Model Ripping Project - DogToon64 - 08-02-2021

There's one model currently pending in the Mobile section.

I tried to rip from it myself. Although, AssetStudio kept giving me errors when it tries to read the files. :/
