Kinda unrelated to ripping but more a general model question; Are the models in Pokemon Go the same models as what's used in the Nintendo 3DS games?

Pokemon GO models have a bit more vertices on certain Pokemon but more importantly GO Textures are of a higher quality than 3D ones.

GO's HD textures can be applied to the Sun/Moon and XY models since Nintendo keeps the same layout consistent in the Art.
Sword / Shield & Let's Go textures can also be applied 3DS models due to consistent layout between gens.

I wish there was a GO asset pack too so for each gen we can get beyond the textures of Sun/Moon.
Let's Go P/E has the best textures for Gen, since Sword/Shield does not have all Gen 1 Pokemon.

Yes Sword/Shield has some Pokemon from each Gen, but not all----that's where Le'ts Go and Mobile GO's come in.

In that case; Any idea where I can get the textures for Pokemon Go?

No one has a full pack of those. Use the Sword/Shield, Let's Go or Sun/Moon ones instead.
SwitchToolBox and SPICA lets you save those.

PK GO models & textures are stored server-side so an "extract all" is not possible.
People have ripped GO textures from their phones renderer/buffer but that method is one-by-one.

Right about... now!

And any clue about Let's Go animations?

RE: Pokémon 3DS/Switch Model Ripping Project - DecaTilde - 07-02-2020

Any word on when you're going to rip the entire Machop evolution line and Gigantamax Machamp from Sword/Shield?

RE: Pokémon 3DS/Switch Model Ripping Project - thekvd - 07-08-2020

New here. Might be able to help, might not. Gotta take a look at the stuff first to make sure I can.

And the Sw/Sh stadiums are located in "\romfs\bin\field\model\a_TOWNUMBER_gNUMBER"
For exapmle the Turffield Stadium is "a_t0401_g0101" (Entrance) "a_t0401_g0102" (Challange Room) and "a_t0401_g0110" (Stadium)
The textures are saved in "romfs\bin\archive\field\area\texture"

I get that these are folders, but where is this coming from? I've pulled all 6 of the Sw/Sh archives from the link on page 1 but I don't see this structure in any of em. What am I missing?

Thanks!

RE: Pokémon 3DS/Switch Model Ripping Project - DecaTilde - 07-08-2020

Unh. No wonder the Machop evolution line and Gigantamax Machamp couldn't be submitted. Most of the DDS files couldn't be read, and when I try converting them to PNG, it gives me an error. And I tried this script for Blender 2.8, too.

Anyway, can someone fix the DDS files, please?

RTB Didn't uploaded the maps that's why
You need to extract the game on your own or atleast find somewhere the whole game files to get them

RE: Pokémon 3DS/Switch Model Ripping Project - trainer_noe - 07-09-2020

I have a question about what we can and can't share .....

I have been experimenting with toolbox and the models from the game and I have managed to merge a whole town in a single scene

Can I share the whole model (once exported to fbx) and upload it to models resource? or should I separate all the elements and upload them one by one? :v
or should I keep the files to myself and just upload pokemon models? Ded

RE: Pokémon 3DS/Switch Model Ripping Project - Eddael - 07-14-2020

Howdy, I just exported this model with ohana as an .obj and then imported it into blender. I tried to sculpt, but then this happened...
I've also looked into the pokepark kecleon model and the same thing happened with it, is this just some stupid gf stuff or is there something I'm missing, a potential fix so I don't have to manually reattach several hundred vertices?
