Crowdfunding Thread (Kickstarter, Indiegogo, etc) - Jermungandr - 08-19-2014

Hmm ... nobody's remade this thread since the forum relaunch? Alrighty guess I'll have to do it myself.

I found this one through Brawl in the Family, whose artist is apparently composing some of the music for this:

Seems like a pretty fun concept.

I had an idea like that. Except it was in the style of those old silent cereal dramas like "The Perils of Pauline" and you play as the moustache twiling villain kidnapping the damsel.

Here's a KS for something neat: component cables for the SNES and Genesis/Megadrive. For SNES/Genesis fans who happen to also be videophiles, this is promising to be a great solution for getting the best video quality out of those systems as possible without having to drop hundreds of dollars on extra cables and converters+adapters/upscalers or having to lug around a probably heavily time-worn CRT TV. If this does well, they're looking into also doing cables for the Dreamcast, Saturn, and TurboGrafx 16.

Call me when someone makes Gamecube component cables.

(seriously though, that looks really good. I wonder if it'll improve n64 as well? edit- oh, they answer that on the page)

(OK so it's more a mod to provide a much cheaper alternative to GCN component out but this remains valid). This can also be rigged to output VGA or DVI.

Also, the cables in the Kickstarter I posted before MIGHT work with PAL Gamecubes since they output RGB and the cables are designed to convert RGB signals to component video. However, if that's the case it'll probably only do up to 480i (instead of the actual component's 480p capabilities).

Unfortunately, definitely not on stock N64s. It seems highly likely that they WILL work on RGB-modded N64s however (they're still looking into that).

Why not just play gamecube games on wii? That has component right

True, but the GCN has better component output than the Wii. Plus the mod above also allows for VGA and DVI (and I think that HDMI is also a work-in-progress).

I know there's a lot of you who like that Ace Attorney series, and this is pretty much that but it's set in 1800's paris and the characters are animals. Seems pretty neat.
