The most I could think of was to round out one pixel on his left (our right) shoe.
Also antialiased him a bit.

DANG! Only 3 pages into the forum? I was expecting more pages back.
Anyways, I've been doing isometric things.
The first is a remake of Marble Madness' secret Water Maze level that I've never heard of before:

the size and shape of their head is kinda weird. make the head smaller to accommodate for the bigger body, just like in the official sprites. also, concerning the shape of the head, its mostly comprised of straight lines.

not only that, the torso, the shorts, and the legs are just straight lines. add some curves, dude. with these many straight lines, he looks super flat.
