Keeping your expectations low to avoid inevitable disappointment

What? If I posted my dream list like a GameFAQs user and said I wanted a new F-Zero, Sukapon 2, a dozen "From Japan" fully-translated VC titles, eight Fire Emblems and a bunch of new games of franchises Nintendo really can't give two shits about, I'd be Wii Music levels of extremely-bummed at the end of their digital event

At least my list is realistic. It could totally happen. u_u

Actually, being serious here but there's also a decent chance Nintendo will throw in a Yokai Watch trailer with a release date of Q1 2016 somewhere within this E3
It's been confirmed, but Nintendo's yet to let out any official word on it

Retro reveals that they are making a sequel to Tropical Freeze and the final in the new DKC trilogy...

Huge shitstorm arises from the internet!

"Should have been Metroid!"

"Retro's wasting their talent on a pathetic IP!"

"Nobody wants another DK game!"

I can hear them now.

Boy how about Final Fantasy 7 Remake rumors pretty stupid am i right?

RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Vipershark - 06-15-2015

ENTIRE SONY CONFERENCE ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
OH LOOK AT ALL THESE SHOOTERS YAAAAAAAAAAWN

also apparently Blastball or whatever it was takes place in the metroid universe if that wasn't ridiculously obvious
there are suppsoedl markers all over confirming it, so it's probably a gamemode in a new prime hunters that will be revealed tomorrow.

RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Kriven - 06-15-2015

I actually hope Blastball is its own game that just happens to exist within the Metroid universe. Don't even want Samus in it.

RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Omegajak - 06-15-2015

Is Nintendo tomorrow? I can literally hear all of your baited breaths.

FVII-Remake, Shenmue III, Horizon: Zero Dawn (freaking robot dinosaurs), Shenmue III, awesome car chase in Uncharted 4, Shenmue III, the Last Guardian.

- What the hell are you on about? Sure no one gives a crap about Black Ops III or Destiny but the rest was all pretty good. And well, hardly any shooters. They started with The Last Guardian. What more could you want? I don't know if you're trolling or being sarcastic...

So basically FF7, two shooters, and two really boring looking games to be hyped up over. Right.
Apparently there was a ratchet and clank at the beginning but I didn't see that one so I'll give you that.

oh and don't forget the RETRO PIXXXXXLZ games from devolver those sure looked great (no they didn't)

No Man's Sky still has yet to show any actual gameplay of note (what the heck do you actually DO in that game???) and everything else was basically AssCreed, other shooters, and that one awful looking dreams game.

Great conference.

RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Dolphman - 06-16-2015

Here you go, No Man's Sky gameplay. It's really mindblowing.

And I'm Just sitting here getting excited for the new DooM.

Looks a lot better than DooM 3, going back to the fast paced action from the original games. The Spider Mastermind better be in it.

It is? Cause I watched that live and there really wasn't much to see.
Note that I said no gameplay of note shown.
Obviously I've seen them do several live demos and there's screenshots of actual ingame stuff but like, nothing is actually HAPPENING in them.

The guy gets in his spaceship and flies into some space combat that's going on around him and seems to just kind of breeze through the warzone. He notes that you can join either side... but doesn't. We might as well be looking at a non-interactive benchmark or some kind of tech demo video that shows some cool explosions and oohs and aahs while you can look around at the pretty colors but the guy isn't actually doing anything.
He zooms out to the solar system thing. Okay, the whole "infinite universe" concept is pretty cool and I have to give that props. But like, what do you actually DO in that infinite universe? An unlimited gameplay field is pretty worthless if there's no actual gameplay going on in that field.

So the dude jumps to a brand new, previously undiscovered planet. None of those warring guys follow him and he's immediately out of the danger zone, not that he was ever actually in any danger. The level of tension (read: excitement) drops from barely registering to none at all because he's now on the other side of the universe, still not actually doing anything. He lands on this new planet and then continues to not do anything. Again, the concept of exploring and discovering completely new planets is pretty cool but it gets boring quick if there's nothing to DO on these planets. He looks around for a while seemingly confused and not really knowing where to even go "well, I've seen better but I've also seen worse..." and kind of off-handedly notes that there's a beacon behind a mountain... that he doesn't go to.

Then FINALLY we see some kind of enemy or something. Those walker things come up to him and there's some light first person shooting but that's literally it.

That's all I know of No Man's Sky at this point. There's a big universe and there's a space ship but the entire game is completely empty and devoid of any actual gameplay or objectives if the times it's been shown in E3 and such are any indication. He notes that there's some kind of overarching objective of getting to the center of the galaxy or whatever, but he ends up going AWAY from that in his gameplay demo.

What the heck was there to draw anyone in? He notes that there's crafting and mining but did neither and I have yet to see them.
Is the entire game just a randomly generated walking simulator? That's more or less all we've seen so far.

This game bothers me because the way they hype it up makes it sound like it's right up my alley but from everything I've seen of it so far I honestly couldn't possibly have LESS hype for it.

It's Minecraft, but IN SPACE basically (space-ically)

BUT VIPERSHARK

HELL HOUSE IN 4K

also, Shenmue 3. People have been waiting like 14 years for a sequel and the last chapter of the Shenmue series. It was funded in like an hour and a half.
where's the admins' spamming and shittalking of other Kickstarters over that, 'cos I'm way more hyped for that than Bloodstained at this point and apparently the rest of the Internet is too

hell I haven't even played the other two but goddamn I'm excited
for like everyone else being excited

p.s. are we all gonna be mad after the e3 digital event that i just
basically called
