it was great for run n gunners (like me) and the maps were pretty well designed short and long range alike

although im sure you'll find plenty of MW players that disagree with me wholeheartedly

Yeah, though everyone's favorite, Nuketown, can be described pretty easily as "GRENADE"

Code Name: STEAM didn't interest me at e3, but it looks a little more polished here. The fact that it's the Steampunk Avengers is just icing on the cake... Or maybe it is the cake. I'm a little more excited about that than I am about Smash Bros. now... Uncle Sam, Frankenstein, Dracula, Hyde, Huckleberry Finn, they should all be in this game.

I was right to wait until I'd get a new 3DS theme. Now I go the Shovel Knight theme for free!!!
The greatest challenge was figuring out how to claim it. Apparently digital receipts exist. Code's there. Thank God Google exists to help me figure shit like that out.

If I didn't know better, I'd find it really weird seeing the people who made fire emblem on this.

I'm super confused, why is Lincoln talking about a queen? Is this some sort of alternate universe where the US never seceded from England or what?

The Humble Store is having its birthday, so you can get Metro 2033 for free! There are also a bunch of huge deals, which are probably worth checking out if you have a couple of bucks to burn.

I don't know about the horror movie monsters. They seem to have a theme of characters originating from American folklore. So I'm hoping for Johnny Appleseed, John Henry, Pecos Bill, and Davy Crocket. Paul Bunyan might be too big? (insert Ridley joke here)

Literature, actually. Red Badge of Courage, Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan (which was actually written by a Scottish author), and Tom Sawyer. Bram Stoker (Dracula) was Irish and Robert Louis Stevenson was Scottish (although that puts him in the same boat as J. M. Barrie) and Frankenstein was by Mary Shelly, who is English. However, there's an awful lot of talk about "The Queen" in this one, and I notice that all the characters are themed in red coats.

Even assuming they stay to the realm of American authors, though (and Tiger Lily is some kind of exception because one of the developers just really loves Peter Pan [or because she's Native American as a character]) we could see characters created by Poe or Lovecraft (Cthulu being the alien leader would be awesome).

Sidenote: are you trying to say that Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, and Mr. Hyde haven't become part of American folklore? Or part of folklore in general?

Maybe. I still see this game having an American Steam Age theme. All the stories they took characters from take place during the Steam Age. Even though Peter Pan was created by a Scottish person, Tiger Lily is a Native American which fits with the theme.

When I think of Frankenstein or Dracula, I don't really think of that era... even though they were written during that time.

RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - E-Man - 11-09-2014

I don't know about Dracula, but Frankenstein and his creation should fit well. Since the Steam Age had a lot of industrialization and revolutions in the world of technology were a big thing at the time, it would make sense that Victor Frankenstein would get a piece of that action. He could use weapons and monsters that combine steampunk technology with rudimentary, cumbersome electrical machines. Heck, even his most famous monster could have two gigantic energy pylons sticking out of his back that often spark and crackle with electricity.
