RE: What Are you playing? Remake edition - Mr. Jam - 08-29-2014

I wish I was better at action platforming games... I'm currently stuck at the final boss of Gunvolt(at least I think it's the final boss anyway). Azure Striker Gunvolt and Mighty Gunvolt are some pretty awesome games!

Finally purchased Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies thanks to that Capcom sale on the eShop.

Really good stuff. Don't feel left out for not playing Apollo Justice, either.

I just 100%'d Super Mario 3D World with every character, so with the 1st Mario Kart 8 DLC out, I've picked Mario Kart 8 back up.

I'm still playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf and assorted other games on the side. I really need to pick DKC: Tropical Freeze back up off the back-burner sometime. I left off on the fourth island.

I've been going through a world per night with Tropical Freeze these past couple of nights. Currently in World 4. This is such a good game, probably the best sidescrolling platformer in years.

Better than Returns? That would be impressive.

Oh yes, it's even better than DKCR. Smile

Well, that's a sign that Retro has what it takes to be the new Rare! Since Diddy's Kong Quest did a whole lot better than the first game, you could see what I'm getting at, right?

Played and beat Castle Crashers with my cousin the other night. Since I have BattleBlock Theater, I got to play as Hatty. Cute

Holy crap, it's kinda tricky (especially that friggin' catfish boss aaah) but it's a really fun co-op game. It's hectic enough with two players in some parts so I can't imagine how it would be with 4, especially during the fight with Necro. :I

Oh my God, that painter boss though. Oh my God.

To be honest, I hate DKCR. I haven't been able to make myself play it for any length of time on either the Wii or 3DS.

Tropical Freeze, on the other hand, is a great game.

So I mean, from my perspective, the franchise went from Hate to Great. So that's pretty good.

Guacamelee Gold Edition. This is both one of the funnest and funniest games I've played. My first session went for 106 minutes straight.

Combat is really fun, I love chaining together moves into cool combos and throwing enemies into each other. General platforming challenges (getting around obstacles, etc) are also fun and cause you to use various moves. The fact that a HUGE PIÑATA FULL OF MONEY appears every time you beat an "arena" (a bit that gets shut off and you have to defeat all the enemies to progress) also makes these bits less annoying and more rewarding.

The humour is also great. You get new powers by smashing big statues belonging to an old guy who transforms into a goat, and there's a giant chicken that trains you to do combos. And that's pretty much just the beginning.

In short, awesome game.

I beat me Pokemon Y. It was easier than I had anticipated.

Yeah, that was one of the only things I didn't like about X/Y. It was much easier than previous installments.

Meh, I was likely attacked by nostalgia when I played DKCR, but I for one really liked it.

Maybe I'll actually get a Wii U someday since apparently it isn't as horrible as I've been told. Tongue
