RE: What Are you playing? Dragon attorneys Sun & Moon edition - NICKtendo DS - 11-05-2016

I'm playing F-Zero X.
In Wii mode.
I spent 2 euros to get it on Wii U and somehow they messed up the controls. The Control Stick is overly sensitive, so making precise movements is impossible. The Max Speed/ Accelleration slider is a pain to use. I slide all over the place and eating guard rails on Mute City and Silence 1 of all tracks, because I can't steer gently. It's a nightmare to play! BUT AT LEAST IT'S IN GLORIOUS 60FPS!!! HELL YEEH!!! Who needs quality when you go FEST!!!
Seriously, screw Nintendo for doing this. It's unplayable in some areas. Buyer beware, avoid F-Zero X on Wii U until Nintendo decides to give a crap about F-Zero and fixes this. If you have it on Wii or Wii U's Wii Mode, stick with that. It's a million times better (no hyperbole).
European Wii U by the way.

I'm playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf again as I'm off sick. I'd forgotten how much I love these games!

RE: What Are you playing? Dragon attorneys Sun & Moon edition - Goemar - 11-07-2016

I tried Animal Crossing on the DS and couldn't get into it. Like I spent hours (as in a year) on the original Cube one and absolutely loved every second.

Similar thing happened with Viva Piñata, spent months on the first one, couldn't get into the second (though the fact you apparently can never completely stop the Professor dude from smashing things might have had something to do with that...)

I really wish Nintendo games actually dropped in price, as it would be nice to try Animal Crossing again.

Double post - sorry on iPod and quoting is hard.

Anyway... I had this issue with Mario Kart 64. Like it randomly speed up - like running at 3 times the speed it's meant to - for like no reason. I really wish Nintenso put some more care into these things. Like why is their no 'virtual memory card' to save ghost data? The Playsation 3 did it...

And why not enable music in 4 player mode? Just little easy to do things.

Annoyingly this happened on Metal Slug Anthology. The first game had terrible input lag and their were a few errors throughout them all (a bit of speed-ups or missing sound effects etc).

Sadly after porting 1, 2 and 3 perfectly to PS3 (and 3 to PS4) they then released Anthology on the PS4 - with all the same errors. But this means a port of X and 5 emulated perfectly is probably not going to happen.

I love it when companies make sure we can still enjoy the older games - but do it perfectly or don't do it at all. I hate feeling like I've wasted my money...

I don't get how they got it running pretty good on Wii, but really messed it up on Wii U. What's the opposite of learning from your mistakes? Because that's what they seem to be doing.

While I've accepted the fact that it's likely never going to happen in the first place, I might as well just mercy kill my dream of ever seeing Expansion Kit making it to the west due to the likelihood of them fucking up again.

Words cannot discribe how disappointed I am at Nintendo right now.

EDIT:
On second thought, they did nail the emulation on the NES mini from what I've gathered. An N64 mini with F-Zero X and Expansion Kit would be the absolute stretch, it's the last hope I see for the total F-Zero X experience coming to the west. They could translate it. Punch-Out ft. Mr. Dream proves these things aren't limited to ROMs in their truest form. Again, even likelier to never happen than a VC release.

Just to clarify: the Mario Kart 64 issue was on the Wii

Also, Mr Dream, as far as I know was in the NES Punchout's second release, wasn't he?

Edit: Googled it - yeah he was.

RE: What Are you playing? Dragon attorneys Sun & Moon edition - TomGuycott - 11-07-2016

Been playing a lot more lately. When I'm with my sister and her boyfriend (which is most of the time when we all get out of work) I've been playing a butt load of Smash Wii U and speculating what may or may not get added if the Switch ports it.

Then later when my friend with a really weird sleep schedule wakes up I play Overwatch online with him and we do a lot of silly shenanigans like both play the same character and wait to see if the team plays the same as well. Last really crazy one we did was all Zenyatta, which sounds like a bad idea, but somehow we swept the other team easily.

Then for when I'm playing alone I have been indulging in the Dark Souls 3 Ashes of Ariandel dlc. It is pretty hard, not as hard as the DLC in Dark Souls 2, but very beautiful and satisfying and TOO MANY WOLVES.

trying to get a good playthrough of Galaxy Fight - Universal Warriors. the AI is super frustrating. the only way to beat an opponent is to be either heavy on the offensive and prevent any opening for an attack or keep guarding and wait to land a big hit.

RE: What Are you playing? Dragon attorneys Sun & Moon edition - SonicStorm478 - 11-08-2016

I've been playing a bit of Madou Monogatari recently, the games are pretty good even though I can't really read Japanese. Sometimes though I think it feels like I end up spamming Fire a lot even when it doesn't seem to work on the enemy I'm attacking.

Other games I've been playing lately include Lego: The Hobbit, the DS version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare, Planet Puzzle League and Puyo Puyo.

I forgot to mention this but I started playing Hearthstone thanks to Special Persuasion from puggsoy and Shade and now I love it help

I'm up to level 20 with Mage, 19 with Hunter, 2 with Druid and 7 with Warlock at the time of writing. It's kinda rough going until you get those fancy-ass cards that everyone has...

Getting back into Monster Hunter 4 because a friend just got it and dammit I hate the Tigrex. Lost on my last life when it was limping and ready to die.

RE: What Are you playing? Dragon attorneys Sun & Moon edition - Goemar - 11-16-2016

Sadly with 4 I hit a wall when I got to G-Rank and my Internet decided it hated my 3DS and would drop out all the time.

Having fought Tig-Rex since Freedom 2 I can't even remember if he ever killed me (so far on my 250 hours into Generations I have died 3 times).

If you're trying to get him stuck in a wall - don't. It takes ages and he'll just snowball/rock you.

Most of his attacks can be dodged by keeping the camera on him and simply moving right - will pretty much make every charge and leap he does miss.

If you don't have a hammer just go for the back legs to trip him. If he's in rage mode his front arms take more damage so go for those when he's down. Hearing Protection is pretty sweet for mounting.

I remember in Freedom 2 Tigrex meant traps and flashes (flashes kinda suck against him. btw) and psyching myself up - now it's just muscle memory, Grimclaw can still be a bit of an arse if you get unlucky mind.

anyone here play DBZ: Extreme Butouden for 3DS? i'm thinking of buying it for myself for Xmas (my family doesn't really do xmas presents anymore lol) and i'm curious to whether or not it's fun

RE: What Are you playing? Dragon attorneys Sun & Moon edition - Shade - 11-16-2016

Have you played any of the SNES Super Butouden games? It's basically the same thing just with absolutely stunning pixel work and a massive character roster. I'd recommend it.

It's mostly my own fault, I've been having a long-ass work week and for some reason I was listening to videos in the background at the same time and let myself get distracted. I just feel  kind of miffed that after passing out twice in a row and suddenly getting him so far gone that he was limping, I got myself caught in a looping combo of charges with no means of escaping despite having full health.

I have officially beaten every single parallel quest and expert mission in Xenoverse 2.
