RE: Suggestions - Petie - 07-25-2016

Definitely not something currently possible and, as far as I'm aware, it won't be possible (natively anyway) in 2.0 either.

RE: Suggestions - puggsoy - 07-25-2016

Fair enough, I was mostly curious.

Is it possible to mark a single thread as read without opening it? If so how?

RE: Suggestions - Petie - 07-25-2016

I thought there was but apparently not. You can mark an entire section read by clicking on its icon but not an individual thread.

RE: Suggestions - Dazz - 07-25-2016

We could make this suggestion to MyBB though.

RE: Suggestions - Petie - 07-25-2016

Which, the ability to mark a thread as viewed or to selectively ignore entire threads? The former seems like something they'd include but I'm not sure they'd do the latter.

RE: Suggestions - Mighty Jetters - 07-25-2016

Honestly, I simply read all the threads I care about and then Mark Forums As Read on the bottom right on the Main Index. Seems easier and more efficient, IMO...

RE: Suggestions - TeridaxXD001 - 08-27-2016

Would it be possible to add a comments field to new submissions? There's one for revisions, but not new submissions. There have been cases where I've wanted to explain something about the sheet to the approvers. The only way to do this right now is via PMs, and because you don't know which approver is going to look at your sheet, it's not very effective.

RE: Suggestions - Petie - 08-27-2016

The reason that field is present on revisions is that you need to justify the changes you're making to already approved content. Can you give some examples of why this might be needed on the submission side as well? It's not completely out of the question but it would be a bit irritating to add in so I'll need some good logic behind it.

Is this because I keep sheeting your .ZIPs? If so, I do this because things that can be easily sheeted using Daxar's Sprite Sheeter are easier to view and handle than archives.

If not then, carry on. Tongue

No, I actually appreciate you doing that, since I can't get Daxar's Sprite Sheeter to run on my laptop.

For an example, I currently have a model in the approval queue that is very strange-looking. It's unused in the game, and has a...unique texture layout. It's Knuckle's Studio from The Wind Waker. Because it looks so messed-up, I'm afraid that the approver might question its authenticity, or something to that effect.

In short, it would just be a nice way to communicate with the approvers, be it over a citation or any other concern or issues.

RE: Suggestions - Filler - 08-28-2016

Would it be possible to make Customs their own Genre? Since using Other makes it look odd, right now.

I'd like to think our staff would look into something before just blanket assuming it's broken or fake. This still isn't out of the question but I'm just having a hard time thinking of instances where it would really be necessary (especially at a volume to justify adding it). Others are welcome to chime in here as well of course.

Customs isn't really a genre though. Other is really for anything that doesn't fit into one of the other categories but not all customs will wind up there to begin with. Custom work based on existing work should go in the genre of the existing game. Completely custom work can either be placed in the genre that it was intended for (e.g. if you do 8-bit Mario inspired characters from another game, the platformer genre would likely be where you'd want to put them). Again, anyone else can offer feedback on this one as well.

It would be neat in my opinion. I can't come up with anything specific either but there have been times when something's a bit weird and I'm not sure whether it's intended or a mistake. I think having people clarify stuff in the submission itself would be useful and help increase communication between staff and submitters.

RE: Suggestions - Petie - 08-29-2016

If you actually think people are going to use it, I'll add it in.

Edit:
Done! And briefly tested. Let me know if there are any issues!

RE: Suggestions - Cooper B. Chance - 09-07-2016

May you please add a stealth genre to the genre selection for submissions?
