RE: Quirby - Quirby64 - recme - 05-31-2014

your nes sprites should also follow to the tfr palette. just because theyre "classic" does not mean that they can go by with a free pass

Eh, IMO I don't know what to do I guess with it. Though I think I'll do that. *shrug*

I would suggest either Ribbon, Adeleine, or ChuChu. But since it needs to be a character from an anime, the best bet would really be Tiff.

RE: Quirby - Quirby64 - Quirby64 - 06-02-2014

Added 4 more moves (9 leeeeeft yeaaaa) and edited the M. Moe. I'm too proud of it, but I dunno. :/

It's all good that you're getting all these sprites done, but I have the impression you're rushing ahead and not paying much attention to the rest.

Sure, you'll soon have a complete sheet, but there is one important issue you haven't addressed: fitting your sprites in the maximum sized canvas (64x64), as a size reference but also to make it easier for people to use your sheet. To make things worse, you're working on a white background (which I do not recommend doing in the first place), which means if people want to pick the background colour as transparent, they're going to make your character transparent too.

Here's a suggestion for laying out your animations:

If you're taking this project seriously, then go all the way and take care in making the actual sheet.

Another issue is that as you're a new member, you're using your own references, which are mostly exterior to TVGR and to its many anecdotes and stories.
As well as closing off the others from yourself, you're putting yourself in the position of an outsider, which I find extremely ironic for a project like TFR. Perhaps when you got more involved with the life on TVGR, maybe you'll get some anecdotes or references that other members can recognise and appreciate.

I put each sprite in t a 64x64 box in a new sheet, and (thankfully) each sprite fits. Also, I always seem to use a white backgroud on a lot of sheets, I never thought about that when making this one. >.<

And this is probably just me being stupid, but what's an anecdote? ^^'

RE: Quirby - Quirby64 - E-Man - 06-03-2014

To put it briefly, an anecdote is basically a true short story that's actually amusing.

RE: Quirby - Quirby64 - Yangfly Master - 06-04-2014

Hey.
Is that thing in the top right of your sheet a waddle doo?
If its cibby fix a bit its mouth.
It looks like a waddle doo eye.

RE: Quirby - Quirby64 - TomGuycott - 06-04-2014

Something I noticed about what I think is your Back Punch or Back Kick, the one with the cars.

The purpose of the "back" in those moves is simply the controller direction, not the direction of the attack. It actually looks like you are attacking to your back in that move. What the Back moves usually are is a pop-up move that knocks other players in the air, or in some cases a move with big knockback.

You may want to change it so the cars are popping out in front of you instead, unless the move operates in a way I'm failing to see.

Ohh. When I got to the back moves, I was thinking of move that do attack the back (Kinda like the ones in Scott Pilgrim).

I did some more sprites to make the moves attack to the front now.

Also, I think I got all of the moves EXCEPT the "parry"s. I looked through the Reference Tutorial thread and saw nothing. And because I'm being stupid still, can someone tell me? >.<

first of all

second of all, the background is very plain. make the clouds and the hills a whole lot bigger. im also wondering what type of stage this is since there appears to be a NES, but not any NES characters...

also

to reiterate what chris just said, why join a project like this if we dont really dont get your outside jokes/people. shouldnt this work be put for something in your other community?

On the first comment, the stage does stink, only started getting the design done.

On the second, I don't really get it, by another community, what do you mean. I have been in other "communities" like Smackjeeves and Deviant ART, but what would it have to do with this? >.<
