Happy 25th Anniversary, Game Boy! - E-Man - 04-21-2014

It's hard to imagine that the grey brick Nintendo churned out is a quarter of a century old today. While we take portable gaming for granted these days, it was something special to see that tiny green screen mounted onto a large chunk of plastic. Without it, we wouldn't have gotten all the good games we talked about today and Nintendo would be nowhere near as successful as it is now.

What's even more mind-blowing is that there are users on this website (myself included) that are younger than this marvel of gaming technology.

Poor Game, he's 25 and everyone still calls him a boy.

Just like my parents...

But seriously, thanks Nintendo for bringing greatness to the gaming world, again.

What is a crying shame that the Game Boy line had to end to make way for the DS line. While the DS systems are still very good, it still doesn't have the same ring as "Game Boy" would. It's pretty sad to see another relic of Nintendo's history gone with the flow of time, like Nintendo Power.

"Now you're playing with power! Portable power!"

As I used to have a red Gameboy, I had no idea that it came around when I was just a baby until now. I do remember playing Mega Man V and Kirby's Pinball Land years later. Wink Thanks for the handheld memories, Gameboy! =)
