I don't know why but I'm actually more psyched for the cartoon than the actual games.

The games feel like show tie-ins, which is...completely ironic given that Sonic started out as a videogame character.

Who ever would have thought a video game character could have a shitty videogame based on a (potentially decent) TV show? :I
This is literally like a TV version of Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game

RE: Sonic Boom - E-Man - 06-11-2014

I could barely hear her over the crowd of people, but it sounds like Amy Rose changed her voice for the better. Considering that the Minnie Mouse voice was grating my nerves, this is a change for the better.

RE: Sonic Boom - Jermungandr - 06-11-2014

From what little I could hear, she sounded a lot like Babs Bunny.

RE: Sonic Boom - E-Man - 06-11-2014

Personally, she's starting to sound more like her previous voice actress, Lisa Ortiz, and that's a good thing for me.

RE: Sonic Boom - Dolphman - 06-11-2014

I agree that her voice sounds better. Leave the Minnie Mouse voice to Russi Taylor.

The game looks like a mix-bag of Heroes and Werehog gameplay, with a bit of Ratchet & Clank thrown in.
As for TV trailer. It does look have amusing bits. That "EVIL HAM!" joke is really asking to be a meme.

With the new characters. Lyric does look cool, and Sonic needs more reptile characters. Vector is not enough.
Sticks the Jungle Badger already looks like she's going to be "The Scrappy" character of the series.
Mostly with her bad Elmyra Duff-esque voice, but at least she's not a bad stereotype like Marine was.
Stupid raccoon talking with slang that's NEVER used in Australia in real life.

RE: Sonic Boom - Dazz - 06-26-2014

I played this at a Nintendo event yesterday.

It sucks.

RE: Sonic Boom - Vipershark - 06-26-2014

I've read several people saying that this is by far the worst Sonic game and is really broken.
It's not surprising.

RE: Sonic Boom - Eno - 06-26-2014

It's somewhat surprising to me. I wouldn't have expected someone to manage making a worse Sonic game than most of Sonic Team's efforts.

The question of course is: worse than Sonic 2006?

RE: Sonic Boom - Lemonray - 06-26-2014

I'm not sure why, but I'm actually pleased to hear that.

This pleases Raymond.

RE: Sonic Boom - Dazz - 06-26-2014

Can't confirm worse than 06, since it was a demo, and most of the issues with 06 were bugs and loading times. It was buggy, for sure, but I can't confirm it's atrociously awful all the way through. The gameplay is just slow and fucking boring though, and the characters never shut up.

Was the 3DS version available for demo?
That one looks actually decent

(decent as in like, a cute soft-serve shaped turd with anime eyes...like a slightly more approachable turd)

RE: Sonic Boom - Eno - 06-26-2014

I was very put off when I found out the gameplay styles were so split apart and it seemed like the bulk of the game was in a Werehog-style brawling mode.

Giving a different development team a crack at remaking Sonic seemed like a great idea (I still think it is) but apparently this team didn't know what to do with him...
