RE: Sonic Boom - Kitsu - 02-10-2014

He's just decided to stop shaving his arms

I mean before he'd have to shave his arms so long every day
and the razor would get caught and pull the hair
and he's always worn gloves so no one would notice his hairy hands
one time, he even tried waxing, but it just took too long and was too painful to be worth the money he had to spend on it

RE: Sonic Boom - Kriven - 02-10-2014

I hate the "shaving" joke/explanation everytime I hear it, but it makes so much sense in explaining why Amy's arms are still apricot x.x;

I think they should listen to feedback about updating the designs before the final product though. Tongue

Also, fans are also bitching about the center mouth again. I agree that it looks horrid, since it doesn't really suit Sonic and Knuckles.

Funniest thing I have ever heard.

RE: Sonic Boom - NICKtendo DS - 02-11-2014

I barely noticed the blue arms at first, so it's not that big of a deal to me.
To me the redesigns were fine if it weren't for those proportions.

RE: Sonic Boom - SchAlternate - 02-11-2014

I actually don't mind the redesigns at all.

RE: Sonic Boom - soulcaliburfan - 02-11-2014

I think the legs are the only problem.

Maybe hairy legs are in on Mobius.

RE: Sonic Boom - Iceman404 - 02-11-2014

I think center mouth looks fine and actually prefer it. Side mouth just looks awful to me and has never looked right in 3D. Like, entire sets of teeth are on people's cheeks, it just looks weird.

I mean, what's wrong with...

... at all? Yet...

... is more acceptable?

Actually if there's one thing I completely prefer about Sonic's redesign, it's his new head altogether. It just looks like what I've always wanted it to look like: less ass-face, front mouth that actually looks good for a change, and a bit more spikes (though they're not shaped quite as nice anymore). Also, Knuckles has had front mouth most of the time since S3&K, it was only ever sideways when he's smirking. His muzzle is far too long for those shenanigans. :V

I just ranted about mouths. Dear God someone help me

RE: Sonic Boom - Helmo - 02-11-2014

I didnt even notice the center mouth thing. I prefer it...

Also I love how everyone is hating on the new design, it's almost like they did this to make people like the modern design and stop saying "give us classic back".

RE: Sonic Boom - psychospacecow - 02-12-2014

This is inspiring honestly. I think I might work some stuff based on these.

To throw in my two cents on the matter, it's hard to make things that look right in limited animation when you apply it to CGI. Unless certain design modifications are made, trying to copy elements from limited animation, such as sideways mouths, doesn't always work.

Take the three Jimmy-Timmy Power Hour specials on Nickelodeon for example. Since Jimmy Neutron was made for a three-dimensional world, not only does he look natural in that environment, but he's also easy to translate into a design that suits Timmy Turner's two-dimetional world of flat character designs and limited animation. As for Timmy himself, when he is placed in Jimmy's world with a design that is faithful to his 2-D self, he just… Turns out creepy.

There's something not right about that permeant grin his face makes when he is a CGI character. He has very distinguishable expressions when he was still 2-D, but while in Jimmy's world, every expression he makes seems to be that same grinning face model of his contorting into various expressions that mostly look unnatural. Let's not forget the fact that how much the grin looks too much like the Joker's smile that makes it look very unsettling when it's not making any expressions at all.

Of course BiTF would make a gag about it. He gets to draw Sonic with blue arms again, after all!
