I want to make a request but can't? - ImbaToasty - 10-14-2012

Hello! My name is Shawn, and I make games. Simple as that. (: I program using a software called Scratch. My programming skills are good enough to make fun games, but I do not have the artistic eye/ability/patience to draw my own sprites. I wanted to make a request, but the forums told me that I had insufficient privileges and that I was therefore unable to do so ): I've activated my account via E-mail. How can I make a request?

Thanks in advance!

- Toasty

Unfortunately, the rules here at The Spriters Resource state that you cannot make requests until you've amassed at least 20 posts and been around one month. This is done to ensure that people who make requests are actually a part of the community and not someone just dropping by to get some quick pixels and then leave forever.

Aside from joining TSR as a full member, you can alternatively find another site that might be more willing to fulfill random requests. OpenGameArt.org is one such place.
Though as a note, here at TSR, requests aren't usually undertaken, since it's not primarily a request site at all, but rather an asset ripping site and repository, so even sticking around that long in no way assures you'll get your request filled. Not that you shouldn't stay: it's always nice to see another programmer around here, and maybe you can even pick up some basic pixel skills! We also appreciate game developers, no matter how small, so if you want to showcase your game when it gets to a playable state, by all means do so!

Excuse me for cutting in, but I'd like to thank you for sharing that website. Turns out music's one of their big sections, and I've found a lot of good stuff there.

I just felt like the "thank" button wasn't good enough, so thank you for the tip!

I moved the topic to the QIT section and I'll close it as it has fulfilled its purpose.

One thing I would like to mention, though, is that it's all over the place, even in the Requests section description in fine bold letters. Tongue
