RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Superjustinbros - 01-22-2013

Thanks.

I should bring up that giant SMB general rip from Zeon and Beam Luinsir Yosho as well as Ragnarok's items sheet could now be considered out ripped, especially the former since they're not perfect rips (the Buzzy Bettle is sized incorrectly and when animating it, it appears to be bobbing, horizontal pipes are drawn wrong), Mario's swimming sprites and many other alternative enemy colors are not present, and there is meant to be transparency in the Castle tiles.)

RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Garamonde - 01-22-2013

Oh I thought I deleted those already heh. Either way they're gone now!
For the record BTW, we really appreciate you updating rips from our more ancient game sections like that. The oldest games on the site shouldn't have the worst sheets after all. Wink

RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Superjustinbros - 01-24-2013

Glad to hear.
You could also consider Techokami's Pac-Man rips out ripped, since it's not a rip of the original arcade version but it's GBA port that's part of Pac-Man Collection. I'll see about doing Ms. Pac-Man sometime soon.

Also, the game you have labeled in the PC section "Bomberman" should go under Other Systems since technically it's a TurboGrafx16 game with games played on a TV, it's known in Japan as the PC Engine because the company that designed the console (NEC) also made actual PC's, but they're nothing like standard OS's you'd see on Windows and Mac, as NEC's line of computers worked just about the same as the Commondare 64, with the sole purpose of playing games.

EDIT: I think I ripped the palettes on one of the SMB1 items incorrectly. Will check and update the sheet if necessary.
2nd EDIT: Here's the corrected SMB1/2J/ANN items sheet. But I sort of forgot about Luigi. >.< Will give another look and update if I need to. EDIT: Updated.

And a fixed Mario Bros. sheet for SMB/2J/ANN. I just tilted one of the climbing frames up by three pixels (since an incident that occurred in the Flash game Super Mario Bros. Crossover that caused a "bobbing" effect while scaling a vine could be easily linked to this error).

It may be worth noting that I also kind of out-ripped xdonthave1xx's Centipede (ARC) sheet, since the one I uploaded has the palettes for all the remaining levels (his only goes up to the eighth level, mine goes up to 14).

In the sprite collection for Pac-Man Collection (GBA), you can put all the sheets labeled under "Pac-Mania" into the Pac-Mania (ARC) section. About everything else under Characters and Backgrounds could go under the game "Pac-Man Arrangement" (ARC).

RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Garamonde - 01-26-2013

oh yea I saw these but didn't do them, my bad... I do that a lot. Sick
fix now!

RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Superjustinbros - 01-26-2013

Thanks again, Mighty. You're a good pal. Wink

I need to mention and I don't what to give you a tight schedule, but you forgot to remove the out-ripped Centipede and Pac-Man sheets, and the SMB2J items sheet wasn't updated. There's also the short mention with the PC Engine/TurboGrafx16 Bomberman game not being a computer game.

Though hopefully on the brighter side, fangames of both SMB1 and Pac-Man will now be more authentic to the originals.

Edit: I can't believe I'm still editing this one sheet, but there's a small color error I discovered last night on my SMB items sheet, regarding the colors on the Stars. Here's the fixed version.
*removed outdated sheet*

By now I was hoping I wouldn't have to touch this sheet again either. It's just more alignment fixes.

UPDATE: Remember my Super Gussun Oyoyo/2 sheet? Turns out I got one of the pallettes (the ninth one) that are never applied to Gussun/Oyoyo or any of the other "Carbon Gussuns". I'll re-search the ROM and get out it's proper colors (red shirt with white skin), then upload the fixed sheet.

RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Superjustinbros - 01-29-2013

One more update to the SMB/2J/ANN enemies sheet. Ended up making small color tweaks and re-ripped both Bowser and the Hammer Bros. And to make it more convent to everyone, I added in the Hammer Bros' hammers and Bowser's flames.

EDIT: Fixed one thing with a shadow being underneath the end-level Flags when they're really not.

RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Superjustinbros - 02-02-2013

Pulling these from my "SBK: Snowboard Kids Ending Images" thread. They are for SBK: Snowboard Kids (DS).

[Image: SnowboardKidsDSEndingImages_zps57a11c87.png]

While on the topic for Snowboard Kids, it may be worth mentioning the person that originally ripped the above images also did an image archive for Snobow Kids Plus (PS1), which has textures, sprites, and stills used for in-game menus, the story sequences, and the staff roll.

http://www.mediafire.com/?5rv8p6kpbsrryi1

These aren't (at least in my eyes) ready to go on TSR, mainly since I haven't figured out how PS1 emulators work, and considering how I'm using a Mac, all those blank files unviewable on Macs will be present, and can just be taken out with no worries.

If the game and sheets icons were made, and sprites and textures were both grouped and colored correctly, these'd be ripe for submitting (with the textures going into the Textures Resource).

...oh I just came here to merge your thread into this one. :/
I guess I'll lock the other then.

Yea, there's really no usage now for the other thread, seeing as it's all in this one now. Ouch!

RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Garamonde - 02-02-2013

also everything is up -- but there is no Pac-Man Arrangment game section so I can't re-upload the characters and backgrounds.

Now the sheet can exist. Genki ^_^

EDIT: New game to add to the database: Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory (ARC)

(Edit: Yay I found I need to fix another thing in my SMB1 Mario Bros. sheet…)

RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Garamonde - 02-09-2013

please excuse the constant delays, I'm really good at getting distracted/being lazy. :s
it should all be tidied up now. btw, who am I supposed to credit other than you? you say they're ripped by NAMCO Museum but idk what that means...

RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Superjustinbros - 02-09-2013

In all honesty, I don't really know the name of this person; (s)he's Japanese, and they run this site. It's meant to be like a site detailing all of Namco's arcade releases.

http://www22.atpages.jp/nbgifan/namco.html

If you scroll down you'll eventually find wallpapers that contain sprite rips for one game, or multiple games in the same series or by the same company, but they're very disorganized. Either way, this is where I got the Arkanoid (though DOH I ripped myself), Phozon, and Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory sheets before cleaning them up and removing the solid background.

RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Garamonde - 02-10-2013

you asked permission before using them, right...? otherwise taking sprites from an archive like that, ones that someone else ripped, isn't acceptable to be on the site.

RE: Superjustinbros Sprite Archives - Superjustinbros - 02-10-2013

... I don't know Japanese. Nervous
I tried to bring the awareness of this site to him/her, but I haven't checked the comment field area on th site after I suggested they contribute to this site. I highly doubt they'd see the comment.

EDIT: Looks lie he/she didn't see my comment.
Here's a quick link directly to the comment fields: http://8254.teacup.com/namco/bbs

I guess you can just remove those sheets from this site, even if there's no other way those games will get decent sheets on the site. Cry
