So apparently sometime in december, Sony got a new patent against use game sells. Their new method works with a small chip on the disc. First time the disc is read, the console writes an ID on the chip. Then it will only read the disc when the ID matches. Neat, huh? :>

RE: Gaming Lounge - TomGuycott - 01-03-2013

Yeah, if neat is dirty, underhanded and downright ridiculous. Why would ANYONE want to buy their games anymore if they did that? A consumer wouldn't even be able to feel safe using their product. What if something happened to a customer's system that was completely out of their control? Does their entire game library suddenly become useless?

Or am I misunderstanding, and does it actually mean that it will only read one disc for that particular game ever? Lots of similar problems with that too.

RE: Gaming Lounge - Marth - 01-03-2013

Why did NSMB WiiU get so much negativity? It was gradually challenging and rather enjoyable. I just finished it and really had a fund time playing it.

RE: Gaming Lounge - Tellis - 01-03-2013

Because the vast majority of people are finally growing tired of it?

I didn't like the New Super Mario Bros series starting with Wii because of how unfun the "co-op" (aka get in each other's way) was. Though, I think we've had this conversation before at the time of 2's and Wii U's announcements...

Also, I'm gonna probably wait for a price drop or something that I must play before getting a Wii U. I've got plenty of other stuff to tide me over, heheh...

RE: Gaming Lounge - Marth - 01-04-2013

I honestly haven't played a NSMB since the first so that might be why I liked it so much.

RE: Gaming Lounge - Kriven - 01-04-2013

Haven't played it yet, but NSMBWU looked way better than NSMBW. So did NSMB2.
